Old Town Laundry Bar — Restaurant in England

Our first visit, and certainly not the last! Fab, funky and quirky, not what you would expect from Swindon. Having prebooked a one hour slot (unsure as to how long we would be staying), giggling like school kids uttering the ‘magic words’ to gain entry, we were treated to a warm welcome, and took our pick of four available tables. Seating around 20 comfortably downstairs, further seating is available upstairs. An impressive cocktail selection along with well thought wine selection, we plumped for Old Fashioeds and a bottle of NZ Sauvignon. Service was prompt and efficient but relaxed, and the available snacks of olives and spicy nuts were a good accompaniment to our drink choices - special thanks to our server who went out of his way to appease our picky eater of the party with salted crisps (not on the menu), which was appreciated. We eventually opted for the charcuterie sharing board - brie, cheddar, grapes, pickles, gerkins, bread, chilli jam, selection of meats - although we asked for more bread as the initial serving was a little sparse, but everything was tasty, and fresh so a big thumbs up. Our allotted booking overran but this clearly wasn’t an issue and we would have quite happily have stayed for longer had we not had to take into consideration the journey back to Chippenham. Rare, child free date night - ate at miller & carter and decided to walk up town and see what all the fuss was about at this laundry place…

I can confirm IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! From the moment we opened the front door to enter it evoked laughter! Lucky enough to get a table as walk ins (didn’t pre book as wasn’t sure if we would be joined by friends) this place set the perfect vibe with the perfect lower lighting, incense and music.

We then proceeded to work our way through so many different, quirky, tasty, fun cocktails! The menu/team just kept coming with the creations and great combinations of flavour - coupled with fantastically fun and conversational ways of serving! A bottle of water on the table made a quick refresher in between but the absolute highlight of our night was a member of staff - Lewys! On hand to chat through our tastes and his recommendations. His attentiveness makes you feel like you’ve always known him and the way he talks about The Laundry bar is just nothing short of admirable! He made us feel right at home, even though it was our first ever visit. He really is a credit to them!

Absolutely amazing!! Booked for a surprise 40th for the wife. They were unbelievably helpful and friendly!really made the misses feel special! Can't speak highly enough of every person who worked that night and the boss was amazing aswell!! Even converted me to cocktails!! Every cocktail was a work of art and love the way they explained what they were!! Way to good for swindon. Cocktails/staff/environment from start to finish was 100 percent perfect and more!!
