Morrisons Cafe — Restaurant in England

Looking at previous reviews, I did a glowing reference 3yrs ago, what a difference a few months and a lockdown or two makes.

Morrisons, what are you doing?

You've turned what was one of the best local supermarket breakfast experiences into an embarrassment, not quality or service wise, but quantity wise.

My wife and I who used your breakfast facility many times, not only enjoyed the quality and quantity of the various options but also appreciated the friendly and bubbly customer service provided by your very professional staff.

Historically, we always came away feeling like we had had enough even if we had the small version, however, on our latest visit when the breakfast arrived we both thought there must be more to come, I personally could have eaten two portions.

I understand not doing product swaps any more, though for somebody like my wife who is allergic to eggs it's a bit restrictive, but the fact is your portions are frankly embarrassing.

We will not be back, which I imagine you will not be too worried about, but given the lack of people in the cafe at what should have been a prime time, and the look on your member of staff's face as they delivered the offending...

Been in for breakfast a couple of times recently. General observation on both occasions , lack of staff, coffee machine out of order as usual, general cleanliness could be improved as floor needed sweeping and tables wiped but for this to happen more staff needed. I had avocado with poached egg on toast. The avocado was awful and I couldn't eat it. This time I had scrambled egg on toast. I should have sent it back but I am too polite for my own good so battled on and ate most of the dry cremated offering. The chips were dried up and inedible. Well, I’m not sure what’s happened previously but I had a very good experience today, and there were a number of other smiling faces around. My expectations of supermarket cafes is always low, I normally feel that they have a captive audience. But today I had lovely staff, helpful as I am a dummy. I had the English breakfast and a coffee. Only 1 machine working today but no queue. The cappuccino was strong, smooth and hot with the bonus of a chocolate shaker to hand. The breakfast was lovely, hot, on a warm plate with enough food for me and I’d just done a 43km bike ride.
