Went to the bar to order, no sauces on any meals (simple request), the lady stopped serving us half way through and walked off the bar. Five minutes later she came back so we asked for a tap water to which she replied 'no, I'm in the middle of sorting someone out' when we were being served, HOW RUDE. Anyway in the end she said she will bring it over and 2 hours later we still never received the water. My meal came out 5mins after ordering to which we sent it back as we are a table of 12 who all ordered on one order. We then received all of our food mine came with the piri piri sauce when we said no sauce, another was drowed in sauce so two meals got sent back to be redone. The steaks were brought out and the lady said they are both M.R and stated that we ordered wrong even though we proved on the receipt that we didn't order them Medium rare. Food all barely warm. Our 'large cokes' were smaller than a regular as we tested it out. Our food was not hitting the 75°c temp as I always being my own probe. This is an absolute tramps place. No sorry for any of it just pure attitude. Never ever again, do not come here not even if your desperate your better off eating doing poo. Also, £6.50 for the worst tiniest bit of vegetables on a stone cold flat bread???? They also then stuck a reserved table next to use so we could not get out but they didn't even clean their table as it had dirty glasses on when the people who booked it was seated!!

I was served by a very polite and forthcoming gentleman called Jamie. An absolute credit. I came in by myself and didn’t know what to eat or drink and he went out of his way to go through the menu with you and the meal was worth every penny. The cider was brilliant as well. I had a Mexican styled burger with nachos and a draught Thatchers Gold. I had a chocolate sundae for dessert. Really happy, thankyou again Jamie. You know what it’s nice to have someone that smiles and wants to work hard. If I had a business I would employ Jamie right away. I’ll definitely be back. I came here to celebrate and I haven’t felt lonely at all.

My experience was a while ago so this place may have improved since but our time there was terrible.

We booked ahead, for my sisters birthday, as due to the pandemic we assumed there would be less availability and we wanted to make sure we had seats in a quiet area as two of the party are hard of hearing and I can get overwhelmed easily.

It started off nice. The only issue I had from the start was that there was no option for orange juice and lemonade on the digital menu (it's been on any other digital menu I've used).

I ordered a little off menu because of allergies, the wait staff said it was ok, wouldn't be an issue. My food came and instead of the one item I asked to be removed all of the salad was removed. Not only that but me and my partner were served the wrong fries. We tried to get the attention of the staff but we couldn't see anyone and our food was getting cold so we just ate it.

It was busy that day, due to it being the F1 finale, and it appeared that there were only three staff members, including the manager. One of the staff turned the TV next to us to full volume so we ended up with a lot of people coming into the area from the rest of the place. That meant my party couldn't even have a conversation and I was getting stressed out and overwhelmed.

We were understanding that people would want to hear the end of the race so we didn't complain, but once all the hoo haa with the safety car had been sorted we politely asked that the TV was turned back down due to members of our party being deaf. They agreed to do so but nothing happened for a long time so we asked again, same thing, and repeat. We were thinking of getting desert but since we had to communicate in BSL, British Sign Language, (which is difficult as my partner doesn't really know it and I can only finger spell) we ended up leaving.

Before leaving my dad and partner wanted to talk to the manager and express the disappointment in their failure to make adjustments for people with disabilities, especially since they were informed of them before hand. It took a while for the manager to appear to talk to them. When they finally did appear and our issues were voiced the manager blamed us for the disappointment in the food because we didn't talk to them (again, no-one was visible for a long while for us to talk to) and then said that it wasn't their fault for the rest of it because of how busy they were. My issue with that is we are in the middle of a pandemic, the place shouldn't have been that full anyway, let alone if you weren't staffed to handle that many people, don't let that many people in. Also, accept responsibility.

It was chaos, I'd say every member of staff was set up for failure that day. They tried their best and deserve a better manager. Do...

The Nag's Head used to have a fairly poor reputation initially, with its microwave style menu. Now recently revamped by Greene King Pubs it's definitely worth a revisit.

The menu has changed to flame grilled items, mainly steaks, wings and burgers, but it also comes with some traditional pub grub for those seeking more familiar territory. There are various offers up for grabs through the week; classic pub meals are two for £9.99, Wednesday is wings Wednesday with 16 wings for £5, and on Thursday, burgers are BOGOF! My girlfriend and I managed two burgers, two pints and two sides for £18 but despite this, honestly, you get what you pay for.

Meat quality is where you would expect it for what is essentially £4.50 a burger (on the BOGOF) and that is really where it should be. If you can make use of the deals they have then the Nag's Head is definitely worth the trip, but if your heading for the main menu without a bargain then prepare to be disappointed.

Alongside all of this let's not forget the atmosphere and service at a pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but bar service can be slow at times although food appears quite quick. The atmosphere remains somewhat similar to what it used to be with a more family feel, but I still wouldn't take very young ones there of an evening beyond 7pm.

Overall the price is fair on offers, but throw caution to the wind when paying full price. You'll enjoy it but not nearly as much as if it's a fraction...
