Ocean Fresh @ Steves — Restaurant in England

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Not only was I charged double for what I actually ordered, but when I politely raised the issue, I was met with rudeness and a complete lack of professionalism. In particular, a woman working there with blonde highlights was extremely dismissive and unhelpful.

It's unacceptable to overcharge customers and then be rude when questioned about it. This kind of behaviour is not only unprofessional, it's dishonest.

I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone.

The attitude in the response given shows exactly what I have mentioned. I am not someone to give reviews but this restaurant needs to consider who they are putting in management positions as there have been other reviews about this women, like I suggested she was rude and unhelpful. Came in with a family of 12, to be greeted by a lovely young girl who was very polite. Service was very excellent and food was cooked to perfection. Had dolmades which was a nice Greek twist to a traditional chippy. All the family were very impressed with the delicious food. Not surprised it was voted best chippy in derby, should be best chippy/restaurant in the East Midlands. Will definitely be recommending :)

Since reopening, I came to the shop for a cod and chips. The social distancing was excellent and I never came within 2 meters of anyone. It is clearly marked out where to stand which is good. Not to mention that the food quality was still excellent and up to its usual standard. Just like before, I could not recommenced this place any more for your fish and...

What a shame!

This place used to be fantastic, with friendly service and great food. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if they have changed ownership in the last year or so, however I had a very poor experience a couple of nights ago and quite a rude lady behind the counter (Manager/Owner?)

The large fish, was soaked in oil on the bottom, which all stuck to the "greaseproof" paper and removed the whole underside of the batter??

The curry sauce was "gluepy" and had a strange aftertaste? The Saveloy sausage was stone cold too, maybe it had been sitting in cold water??

Not an experience I would like to replicate, which as I said is a shame because it used to be great!!

Please can you give people what they are paying they're hard-earned...
