Rating: โ โ โ โ โ (5/5)
Nestled atop a charming hill in the heart of the city, KAYI Mezze & Grill Restaurant offers an exquisite fine dining experience that tantalises the senses and elevates standard culinary expectations. From the moment you step through the elegantly adorned entrance, you are greeted with a warm ambiance that whispers of sophistication and refinement.
Ambiance: The interior design is a perfect blend of modern chic and classic elegance. Soft lighting casts a gentle glow on tastefully arranged tables, each dressed with crisp white linens and delicate centerpieces. The subtle jazz playing in the background enhances the overall atmosphere, making it an ideal setting for intimate dinners or special celebrations. Large windows provide stunning views of the city skyline, offering a picturesque backdrop that changes with the setting sun.
Service: The service at KAYI Mezze & Grill is impeccable. From the moment the host greets you, the staff exudes professionalism and attention to detail. Our server was knowledgeable and passionate about the menu, offering insightful recommendations without being intrusive. Each course was served with perfect timing, allowing us to savor the moment without feeling rushed.
Food: The highlight of any fine dining experience is undoubtedly the food, and KAYI Mezze & Grill does not disappoint. The menu features a carefully curated selection of seasonal dishes, each artfully presented and crafted with the finest ingredients.
To start, I indulged in the truffle-infused risotto, a creamy dish that showcased the earthiness of the truffles balanced by the subtle flavor of Parmesan. For the main course, I opted for the pan-seared sea bass, which was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist, complemented by a vibrant saffron-infused sauce and a medley of seasonal vegetables. Each bite was a remarkable celebration of flavor and technique.
The dessert menu is equally impressive. I chose the chocolate soufflรฉ, which was light and airy, paired with a rich vanilla bean ice cream that provided a delightful contrast. Every aspect of the dishes was crafted with precision, making each course feel like a culinary masterpiece.
Conclusion: KAYI Mezze & Grill restaurant is a true gem for those seeking a fine dining experience that combines exquisite cuisine, outstanding service, and an enchanting atmosphere. From the attention to detail in every dish to the warm hospitality of the staff, itโs clear that this restaurant is dedicated to providing an unforgettable evening. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself to a night of culinary excellence, KAYI Mezze & Grill is sure to impress. I cannot wait to return and explore more of their innovative menu offerings. Highly...
ย ย ย Read moreWanted to visit here for a while now especially because all I have heard are fantastic things about KAYI Mezze & Grill and everything I had heard was spot on.
The food was amazing, the staff were fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely. It was very easy to forget that you were in Mickleover and it was easy to imagine you were on holiday.
There were 4 of us dining, 2 of us are Vegetarians. The menu has Vegetarian, Nut Allergy and Gluten signs stated which was amazing (the desserts are also vegetarian we did have to ask as this wasn't labelled).
We had the Cold Starter Mezze to share, the portions were very generous between the 4 of us.
All the food was amazing and the portions were great, we were very full. We couldn't leave without trying a couple of desserts the Baklava being our favourite one. We were also given some complimentary Turkish Tea as well which was lovely!!
The only thing I would recommend is perhaps a rubber ring around the tea? The server seemed like he was really struggling with the temperature of the glass cups (no handles) and they were very hot when we touched them so I do think it would be in their best interest to adapt the cups slightly just so the server and customer are comfortable.
Some of the staff were very young like other reviews have stated so when we asked certain questions they weren't sure but they always went and asked another member of staff which we thought was great, it is a learning curve at the end of the day and we appreciated them asking instead of just guessing.
Toilets were clean as well (my Mum said they were very stylish too!)
Very enjoyable and would 100% go back. It's a great asset to Mickleover and Derby. It's about time we got something different, tasty and enjoyable in...
ย ย ย Read moreA restaurant in Mickleover Iโve wanted to try for a long time, officially โMediterraneanโ but actually loads of Middle Eastern & Arabian fusion, amazing Turkish ๐น๐ท and Syrian ๐ธ๐พ foods. I choose all my favourite foods from back home in Morocco ๐ฒ๐ฆ (plus my travels from Egypt ๐ช๐ฌ) Lentil ๐ซ soup ๐ฅฃ which in this restaurant is served with Lebanese ๐ฑ๐ง style deep fried bread ๐ฅ crisps. Falafel ๐ฅ chickpeas/broad beans and spices deep fried and served with various dips. My friend enjoyed the super high protein mixed grill ๐ which was served with a very tasty platter of bulgar wheat ๐พ then we ended the meal sharing the viral dessert Kunafa (secret ingredient to Dubai ๐ฆ๐ช chocolate ๐ซ) which was Lebanese ๐ฑ๐ง style with a hot and hard cheese ๐ง centre, delicious and freshly made๐ we were then presented with free Turkish ๐น๐ท tea, which I really enjoyed as it was not too strong. The restaurant was outstanding, I always thought it was more of a takeaway with a few seats, but itโs actually a proper large restaurant with a lovely quality finish. The staff were very helpful and friendly, plus it had an open fire ๐ฅ kitchen where you could see the chef preparing everything fresh. The bathrooms were also quaint with again a modern twist of a traditional design. Also discovered an easy accessible door at the back of the restaurant. Highly recommended and we are so lucky we have this quality and selection of food right on...
