Nelly's Fish Chicken & Ribs — Restaurant in England

I’m a fish and chips guru, I eat them every week without fail, and whenever we’re away on holiday I’ve got to find a fish and chip shop, so I’ve tried a lot of places, so you might say I’m hard to please! The cod was cooked well and was nice, the one thing I will say is that their “regular” sized cod is the size of a large cod where we live, and their regular was cheaper than our large cod, so that was brilliant. The chips were quite nice too, although I asked for a large chips, I didn’t really feel that it was a “large” portion, but by the time my 6 year old daughter took what she wanted, I just about had enough for myself.

I would definitely return to Nellys if we went back to Blackpool.

The guy who was cooking(I’m guessing the manager/owner) had a big smile on his face from the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out, very friendly...

Overally this place is excellent and I definitely recommend trying it if you're into your fish & chips! Fish was gorgeous (large haddock, lightly battered). Spam fritter was pure filth, in a good way. I'll probably get two next time 🤤. Chips were decent, but I've had better. Curry sauce was more like a Chinese type rather than the chunky dinaclass stuff but it was really nice. We visited quite late so they didn't have any ribs left which we were gutted about!

Spotlessly clean inside after the refurb and the staff were nice and friendly. There's even a dining area in the back.

They stay open a lot later than most chip shops which is a huge plus, most chippies close far too early! Would definitely go again, a bit earlier next time though so I can...

This Chippy was recommended to us by our friends who live locally, we had been to visit them and they said pop in there for tea, so we did. And boy we were so glad to have done so, a super friendly lady took our order and it was all Cooked fresh so we had to wait a little time. But it was so worthwhile the food was outstanding the Cod was a good size and fresh the chips were cooked to perfect, and as a side note the scraps were actually the best we had ever tasted. And all for less than £25 ! That’s two meals with drinks as well !
