My father recently celebrated his 88th birthday, and we decided to dine at Netherton Hall based on the positive recommendations and disabled access. Unfortunately, our visit did not meet our expectations, there are plenty of better places to eat in the area. The food is average at best!

Dissatisfactory Food Quality: The chicken tikka kebab I ordered was presented with flair but lacked the expected taste and appearance of a chicken tikka dish. The absence of flavour, sauce, and colour made the dish unpalatable, which was a let down for me, especially on such a special occasion.

Chewing Gum Incident: The most concerning aspect of our visit was the presence of chewing gum on the bench seat, which resulted in damage to my daughter's dress. I did not raise this issue during the visit itself, but when I reached out to the staff and management, the response I received was inadequate and dismissive. I have called and emailed with little response, in fact I was told that they don't have the 'kind of customer who chew gum' so I must be lying! The denial and implication that I was untruthful are both hurtful and disappointing.

Poor Customer Service: The subsequent interactions with both the manageress and the head office were disheartening. The dismissive attitude and lack of concern shown towards my legitimate complaint and experience made me feel unheard and unvalued...

So we turned up today at 5pm after booking at 1PM for 4 x Sunday lunches.

We we sat down on arrival and then the staff took our drinks order. When the drinks arrived we orderd our Sunday lunch x 4 to be told they had ran out, we stated how disappointed we were to be told "sorry but there's nothing we can do". So we reviewed the menu and orderd our meals to then be told that several other dishes, 2 of which we had just ordered were also off menu. Upon asking to speak to a manager we were again told by the lady manager with an aggressive attitude they have ran out of stock and there's nothing they can do. I stated that had they have told us that they were low on stock when we booked or any off this when we walked in, we would not have ordered drinks or sat down to which she again said there was nothing she could do. A complete waste off our afternoon.

We finished our drinks and asked for the bill, A polite, friendly male manager then advised us we didn't need to pay for the drinks and sincerely apologised.

Had the lady manager handled our complaint with the same attitude then we may have felt different.

Certainly won't be...

Absolutely appalling & the most shocking service we have ever experienced anywhere - it completely ruined a nice family meal out! It started well, but 50mins after ordering (at which stage we were not given any indication that there would be a delay in receiving our meals) my husband enquired where our order was to be then told that the meal he'd ordered was not available! At NO stage had they tried to inform us either when we ordered or at our table about this & they we're clearly quite happy for us to wait until we approached them to find out where our order was! My husband ordered a new meal & after a further 35+ minutes once AGAIN went in to find out where our meals were!!! Upshot is after waiting over 1.5 hours for meals that never arrived we demanded our money back & went home in complete disgust!!!!! We will NEVER eat or drink there again & will be informing others to do likewise if they have any sense! One final point, the cardboard menus that we were given were completely covered in several different meals so were potential ...

Lovely place for food and drinks. It was a dreadful day to be out, been raining all day but being in this restaurant made the day much better. Interior is beautiful, warm and cosy. Lots of framed photos of the history of the restaurant (I think). Feels like a place rich in heritage. Staff were absolutely friendly and helpful, even letting us stay till closing to play card games despite all the other guests had left, didn’t chase us away or seemed upset. Very kind of them. Food was hearty and delicious, the kind that warms your soul.

Had a cooling drink in shade. Beautiful building furnished in style both in and out. Garden is a delight with parasoled tables . Extensive menu . Sunday lunch looked tempting . Included three meat choices. Long list of beers, lager and cider. Reasonably price wines .Is on the A56 a short walk from beautiful Frodsham. Near Castle Park with its art centre and cafe. Good base for rambles on the hills, marches and villages of Cheshire . Bus stops almost outside with regular service from and to Chester .

Had first Sunday lunch at Netherton Hall, staff were really friendly and the service was quick, had only been seated for a few minutes and the drink order was taken and drinks arrived very quickly, food order was taken and after about 10 minutes roast arrived, plenty of meat and vegetables only small criticism is that the roast potatoes could have been a bit more crispy but they tasted good, would I go back ? Most certainly
