Title: A Hearty Roast and Vibrant Atmosphere at The Queen's Head, Frodsham
My visit to The Queen's Head in Frodsham was a delightful experience that married the quintessential charm of a British pub with the welcoming buzz of a community hub. Arriving early evening on a Sunday, the timing was impeccable to witness the pub at its liveliest, with football being a collective spectacle for the patrons that day.
Seated near the bar, the air was thick with anticipation and camaraderie brought on by the match. Yet, even with the heightened fervor of sports enthusiasts, the service remained attentive and efficient—a commendable feat when the staff had to navigate through the excited crowd.
The highlight was undoubtedly the Sunday roast, a testament to the pub’s commitment to tradition and quality. Each element on the plate was cooked to perfection, from the succulent cuts of meat to the golden, crispy potatoes, and the rich, hearty gravy tying everything together. It was a meal that felt both homemade and gourmet, satisfying the soul as much as the appetite.
Amidst the bustling atmosphere, the sense of community was palpable, with the harmonious blend of locals and visitors alike adding to the enjoyable experience. The ambiance was energized yet comfortable, making it an ideal spot for anyone looking to end their week on a high note.
In summary, The Queen's Head delivered an experience that went beyond just dining out. It was a place where the food, atmosphere, and camaraderie spoke volumes of its standing as a beloved local establishment. It’s a definite recommendation for anyone in Frodsham looking for a good meal and a taste of local hospitality on a...
Read moreI was part of a big group visiting for a birthday celebration. Communication prior to our visit had been great - we'd pre-ordered our food and it was really well organised. We had a room to ourselves and everything was ready when we got there. Servers were really attentive and polite. Food was good, especially as nearly everyone had ordered something different. Would have been four stars but for a horrible interaction with someone we assumed to be the manager. One of the group had parked at the back of the pub without realising it was staff only. Our server asked for the car to be moved just as his starter came out - he asked politely if he could eat it first and she said that was OK. Only a minute later, as our group member was starting to eat, a man came into the room and very rudely asked him to move the car now because he had staff 'circling' waiting to park. It was an awkward moment. After he left, everyone in the party commented on how rude and bullying his attitude was and it really spoiled our experience. I know people have bad days but there was no excuse to be that rude to customers bringing in well over £300 - that's 15 local people who...
Read moreUnfortunately, it's not a nice experience. We went for Sunday lunch. I had pre-booked a table . There were 4 of us eating, and 2 chose turkey i had beef and the other pork. The meals were not nice. Roast potatoes were soggy and looked reheated vegetables drained of any nutrition. Meat wasn't pleasant. We did complain about it, and we were offered a free drink . But I didn't want a drink. One of my companions had a gin and tonic, and one had a coke. When they arrived, the waitress spilt the coke all over the floor. The queen's head wasn't busy. Hardly anyone eating ( which we found out why) I could understand it if staff were rushed. But the unpleasant meals cost £46. For four people , I wouldn't have paid that much if I knew it was so awful. Won't be going there again. If I get a reply from them, I am not doing these reviews to get freebies but to warn others about the places that are not...
