What can I say?! I arrived today just after midday with my wife who suffers deeply from anxiety. We are greeted by a waitress who asks if we wish for a table for two to which we respond yes please.
Upon entering the seating area said waitress asks if we would mind sharing with another or other persons to which we politely decline for obvious reasons we are still in the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic plus my wife suffers from anxiety.
We are ushered into the corner at a table for 6 & then seated while given a grubby looking but wipeable menu and left to look at the available meals.
Upon the waitress returning she takes our order for 2 sweet potato curries one with a nann bread the other with a salad garnish we asked for it to have no tomato as my wife cannot eat the seeds so a simple request to leave off the tomatoes.
The meals arrive and behold the side garnish contains tomatoes. Instead of creating a scene my wife decided to eat around it and leave the tomato as the place was starting to become busier.
Several people were asked to wait outside as there was no table space and this was said loudly enough for us to hear. Throughout the whole meal the group of waitresses were watching and making comments between each other making my wife feel very uncomfortable.
It got to the point where the second we had finished eating the waitress was at the table asking to clear the plates away while sending 2 customers to wait by the side of our table with a menu making us both feel we had to leave.
The attitude of the staff is something to be desired I shall not recommended to anyone. What was meant to be a nice quiet meal felt very rushed and did not meet up to...
Read moreA small gem of an eatery that I discovered two days ago. This is my second visit, the first was for breakfast, today was for lunch with a friend.
I’m not in the habit of leaving reviews but the quality of the food, the friendliness of the counter staff and waitresses and the general friendly atmosphere of this place is worthy of a mention indeed.
My friend’s dietary needs were taken care of without fuss or hesitation which put them at rest that all would be fine which indeed they were.
We both had the steak burger which was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The accompanying sweet potato wedges with coating where the best ever. The display of cakes and pastries near the checkout was both mouth watering and enticing but I managed to resist the assault on my waistline.
Yes it’s small and yes it gets busy but the atmosphere is calm and inviting. Long may this place continue to grow. My only problem is whether to tell all my friends or keep it a...
Read moreThe Coeliac Blogger: I'm in the top 10% of gluten free reviews and focus on options and quality. This lovely restaurant is one on the nicest places to eat, as a Coeliac, that cater for gluten free! They do a delicious gf warm Scone and a gluten free Breakfast! The only criticism is the gf bread isn't nice and vegan sausages! I'm not Vegan, there are plenty of normal sausages they are gluten free! Please get some better gf bread in. This place is still 5* eatery, relaxing location, plenty of seating outside and always very clear. A must visit for all, especially if...
