I've just had lunch here and felt compelled to write a review as it was so bad. I don't like to complain, and have never felt such an overwhelming need to write a review.

I had a Bacon & Egg bap. It cost me six quid which I thought was a little steep, but hey, it must be £6 for a reason, I thought! Dry, greasy, tasteless. I've had better from a burger van at the side of the A35 for half the price! It came with a side salad, nicely presented in a filo pastry basket. Very fancy, but not a compliment to the bap at all.

My Father had a jacket potato. Now, I'm no chef or food expert, but I'd expect a jacket potato to be at the very least oven-baked. To use my Father's words, "Tastes like it's been warmed in the sun!" - In reality, it looked like it was shoved in the microwave for 5 minutes! He paid £8 for it. It was dry and could have done with being served with the traditional knob of butter (or even an option to add it on the side). Again, a very fancy side salad came with it.

I can't help but think that if the chef had spent more time on making nice tasting, properly cooked food rather than chopping half an apple in a pretty accordion-style and slicing cucumber into star shapes I wouldn't have felt so hard-done-by!

I definitely wont be lunching here again...

First visit today as a family of 4. Average food and experience. I personally only had an Egg & sandwich which came with a side salad. The bread was dense with particularly chewy crust, butter layer way too thick and had no Cress in the sandwich itself. Side salad consisted of half a plate of salad leaves, 1 slice cucumber, tomato, red onion and pepper. Personally I think a side salad should include more than literally 1 slice of salad produce but perhaps that's just me! Despite this it tasted okay. Disappointed that all drinks were served without Ice on a warm day (when asked a couple of cubes were sourced for us however) and seats definitely require covers, after a considerable wait all of us including both elderly guests found it very uncomfortable. Won't be in a hurry to return again and appears I wasn't the only disappointed customer as during our short visit I happen to overhear the manager dealing with 2 separate complaints (wasn't ease dropping but the location in which the manager decided to discuss was on a public table just next to us! - perhaps a more subtle place is required in...

I normally come here for biscuit decorating in the school holidays which is a free thing and ran by a lovely lady and my daughter loves ! Done inside so it’s easy to get a coffee and some lunch while my daughters entertained with her friends. It was really unfortunate to come today and find it had been moved outside … although sunny the weather isn’t warm and unable to get a coffee . The lady did a fantastic job with the kids as always offering a lovely holiday activity for free!

It’s just such a shame to have been moved outside which I can only presume was decided by managers … the area was in the shade in a car park where cars are parking during the activity … uneven grounding where a child fell on the drain, and unable to get some lunch and supervise my daughter which normally makes it so much better.

However again the biscuit decorating is a wonderful activity for the hoils which could bring the buisness extra cliental from...

The food was very good but much as I hate to say it, the service was poor. Initially shown to a table with some poorly muttered instructions, from which we gleaned we were at table 3, after twice asking for a repeat. 1 menu between two. Then sitting for 10 minutes waiting and finally realising that the instructions were order at the counter. Sigh. Ordered, paid. Drinks came... full sugar instead of diet, although did come several minutes later with diet one...too late. Food was generous, although I question the chips which looked as though they were cut using a coarer... so probably quite high fat, and were served already highly salted. 🤔 so a little disappointed really. But will try again at some point.

I must say, for a quick travel-home lunch, this was fantastic. You can clearly see why for such a little spot why they're so busy! For £15.95, a simple roast dinner with ample flavour. Homemade treats and lovely coffee. What a pleasure to have popped in on a whim. The staff were very attentive, despite being ridiculously busy, they made such an effort to be kind and helpful to all. Especially the older gent who was doing front of house, clearing tables and welcoming guests... rushed off his feet but was SOOO friendly which was lovely.

Great range of food from snacks to full meals, my wife had the club sandwich and that was really good as well as my bun, and even better the bacon was not smoked - I cannot understand why some places use smoked bacon as it puts off half the possible consumers! The staff were attentive and polite, fixed our rocking table before we asked, loads of space and good value. There is also a covered outside area but you need sun!
