I visited Origins with my girlfriend and we were treated to fantastic food and service. Our waiters were polite and attentive with a great attention to detail. It’s clear that they are in a brilliant learning environment to develop their skills. The starter - a leek, potato and parmesan soup was rich and comforting. The main - aubergine served with a rich, well balanced sauce and an accompaniment of potato and veg was delicious and well cooked. My only criticism is it was a lot of aubergine and could have done with a little extra flavouring in the cooking but was lovely nonetheless. The desert - baked custard with a crunchy topping of granola, ginger and gin poached rhubarb was superb - smooth, delicate and beautifully flavoured. The Hereford gin was also lovely and well priced. All in all, brilliant value for money and fantastic food and service. Will definitely be back again to try the next menu. Well done all!

The food was so good, and it was the most interesting pudding I have eaten in my life. Was £19 for 3 courses, and had complimentary mulled wine, mince pies, coffee and crackers! I would give it 5 stars but obviously this is with students in training, so the service is a little clunky, but they are learning and it doesn't take away from the great food!

Took my mum for a meal on tuesday for a special treat, the food was delicious, the students worked very hard and it was a lovely atmosphere in there . We left a generous tip which the tutor and student's were very grateful and explained what the tip money is used for so we were very impressed . Thanks for a lovely afternoon x

I have always had lovely food here & enjoyed going back time & time again. Unfortunately due to a recent medical diagnosis I require special dietary needs. Having spoken to the chef I was told they could absolutely cater for my needs & I would be given my own menu which I was really happy with . When I arrived & asked to see the menu, no one seemed to know what I was talking about but assured me they could sort it to meet my requirements. Having expressed on a number of occasions that I could not have any carbs or any form of sugar, what I was presented with was an array different carbs and told that I could eat the pudding because it contained alcohol and honey so that wasn't really sugar. This is not just some faddy diet it is a real medical issue which affects me & my unborn baby & as a result I am laid up in bed with extremely high blood sugar & a trip to the hospital is required.

Please please don't tell anyone you can cater for their needs if it's...

We had our wedding reception here for 30 to 40 guests and the staff couldn't have done more for us. They happily catered for my now wife, who is on the forks over knives diet which if aren't familiar, means she can't eat dairy, meat, fish, oils or processed foods. They took this into consideration and prepared her a dish consisting of mushroom risotto, a breadcrumb style cauliflower, roasted pine nuts and kale and oil free samosas. The room was beautifully laid out and the staff were incredibly helpful and professional throughout. The buffet food we asked for was prepared to such a fantastic standard and the wedding cake feature piece they created was something else! It was a croquembouche with sugar spun rings layered up the tower. They made this from fresh, just for our reception and it looked amazing. Thank you very much for all you did for us, we will treasure our memories of the occasion....
