A dreadful experience, unapproachable staff to the point I felt uncomfortable complaining and resorted to going directly to Marstons HQ, didn't feel welcome at all, sticky tables, floors and dirty glasses...I was thankful for the straw! Substandard food - charcoled on the outside pink in the middle and that was just the pork! See pictures, you could quite literally ring the fat from the chips... We couldn't get out of there quick enough, had we had more time to find somewhere else we wouldn't have stayed in the first place but as it was bank holiday and we were running to a tight schedule we settled but definitely won't return - not even to use the vouchers sent to us as a good will gesture.

We recently attended a wedding reception at the Peacock and I must say it was very good .The carparking can be a bit tight but we managed to park up and we enjoyed our day.Plenty of tables inside and out depending on your preference and they were well spread out.Service from the bar was very good, they didn't keep you waiting and the buffet was excellent.Plenty of salad, well filled rolls, great chips and to finish off lovely cupcakes. Very good.

Cracking pub with lovely owners and staff. Food is brilliant and very reasonably priced. Some good ales and lots of screens for when sport is on. Dogs are welcome in 2 parts inside , with water bowls offered for them. We will absolutely be back . Great pub. **Edit: visited again and can't fault the place...5 stars!! 👌🏻

We've been to this pub so many times in the past, but since leaving the area, this was our first visit for about 3 years. Pleased to say all is still great! It's a typical Marston's pub so if you're expecting cordon bleu this isn't the place for you, but if like us, you're in town and looking for a pit stop for lunch and don't want anything fancy, it's perfect!

They have a great range of drinks, the real ale is well kept, the place is clean and tidy, there's a good choice on the menu and the service was great too. Big thanks to Nathan who epitomised service with a smile!

We were lucky enough to be able to sit in the beer garden, which although suffered a little with road noise (it's in the centre of a town, it's to be expected!) is a lovely sunny spot and the sun actually graced us with its presence!

Really can't fault it, five...

We had a pleasant experience today, we were welcomed with a roaring real fire. And a chilled atmosphere with great music. The bar tender was pleasant and friendly. We ordered 2 sirloin steaks....1 medium to well done and the other medium rare. However, the medium to well done steak came well done and the medium rare steak came blu certainly mistake I'm sure. I feel that perhaps the kitchen could do with some training in the matter of how to cook steaks to people's liking. We didn't say anything to the staff as we were very hungry and ate our meals anyway. We also felt that the kitchen wouldn't had been too rushed as the bar wasn't really very busy at all...and we have found that in other pubs that steaks aren't always cooked to your liking so we have come to expect this type of mistake. We weren't asked if our meals were alright...

5☆ all round, lovely welcoming atmosphere, myself & my 2 best friends went for lunch on 22nd Nov, we pre booked, which we were glad we did as they were busy, all the staff are lovely & polite, when the food came we were amazed by how quick the meal came & it was delicious, good portion size too, I had the doner meat on a flat bread with fries, it was so good, I couldn't eat it all, so the kind lady wrapped the rest up for me to take home, as I wasn't wasting it, it was too good not to take home, the desserts were really good too, we had such a lovely time, we will definitely be back, thank you so much for a lovely lunch, we highly recommend the Peacock for lovely food & atmosphere & the...
