Went to the Aquarium and stopped in Oscar's after for lunch. No food menu on display, eventually found one of two menus on a single creased piece of paper. There were 11 of us all together but ordered as a 4,5 and 2. All seemed well, lady taking order was polite and efficient. It was busy, so expected wait, not a problem. We noticed the person that had been served before us in the que get their food so thought ours is next, sure enough the server brought 3 plates out with our order but was stopped on way by another customer saying that was their order, he gave 2 plates to them and returned the 3 to the kitchen as there was only 2 of them. The customer then said she had cranberry in her panini which she hadn't asked for which was replaced. My Brother then had his meals served to him which he had ordered after us. The cashier then came over and said there was no more fish and chips for our order. We politely said people had got their food before us but ordered after us, the lady said couldn't have it's comes out in the order as its ordered, we did mention my brother had ordered after us and had food but the lady started to get aggressive and shrugged it off. Having worked in the catering industry for over 30years customer service at Oscar's cafe is not good. We had a child in tears and my wife needing food as she is diabetic. A good day until...
Read moreDon't go. Go somewhere else for decent food. Waited 45 mins for a panini and chips, the chips arrived cold. People were waiting 40+ minutes for their ordered hot drinks. The staff seemed to have no real method to their madness and just dealt with orders when people eventually complained. Other people commented they'd waited over an hour to get a simple panini. The food gets 2 stars as the smoked cheese in the panini was lovely. The staff were grumpy (unsurprising giving everyone was complaining to them) and just snatched the chips back from us without a word when we said they were cold. Staff deliberately avoided eye contact with you when you went to ask after your food. At the point of order there was no instruction about whether you were to wait for your food or to sit down. Turns out you just sit and wait for someone to shout your order. You could see the kitchen and the kitchen staff were working with zero urgency. Just looking at the occasional random ticket and it looked like they were choosing what they could be bothered to make. I'm just glad I got my toddler a brownie whilst we were waiting as she would never have been able to wait the amount of...
Read moreTop floor cafe Really very bad... Ordered loaded fries, soup and pasta thinking the fries would take longest. But they came out first and then there was no one in the kitchen for a good 10 mins until I asked where the rest of the food was, at which point it became clear that they'd forgotten the soup entirely, and that their very broken machine hadn't informed the kitchen of the pasta. The pasta then came out shortly after but they gave it to the wrong table. Then realised their mistake and eventually, five minutes before our boat, brought us our pasta with minor apology, awkwardly walking away when we pointed out the unacceptable wait.
The pasta was mid, and the soup just tasted like a supermarket carrot and coriander tin.
Other tables were having issues too and judging by the other reviews these are long term issues that they just refuse to fix. Simply writing down food orders on a piece of paper and walking it to the kitchen three meters away would be a step in the right direction. Assigning fixed table numbers another.
Good luck, hope...
