We have visited the Paletto Lounge several times over the years, and I am confident this is one of the best places to go for a meal.
Today I had the Nasi Goreng which was Malaysian-style fried rice with chicken and prawns with red chilli, spring onions, sesame seeds and chilli sauce topped with a fried egg and honestly, I think I found THE one. It's incredibly tasty and I loved every bite!
There is always a seat available no matter what time of day, and you don't need to reserve; you can turn up anytime. There is the option of outdoor dining too, but I don't think I've ever sat outside because the chairs didn't look exceptionally as comfortable as the inside chairs do.
Speaking of chairs, I do think it's phenomenal that there is a wide range of different types of chairs, and it means that this can accommodate any customer; for example, my partner does have cerebral palsy, which can cause discomfort when sitting but there's a specific chair he can sit without pain, and that's a win in my book!
The menu is provided via disposable paper, which is more hygienic than the laminated versions they used to offer, and the menu is very different; I would say it's more Mexican influenced, well Mexican and Spanish combination if that makes sense?
You have the option of scanning the QR code supplied on each table to order your food or to go to the bar. If you have any requests for changing the food, go to the bar, as they can personalise it to match your requirements.
The food I always go for is the Chicken, Bacon and Avacado salad which is, quite frankly, one of the best salads I've ever tasted. It's the right portion size, and I usually have a side of halloumi fries to compliment the salad.
I've tried the other foods they offer, and the burgers are never disappointing, but the steak is sadly usually chewy, and it's unpleasant for me. The tapas are a small portion of food that is incredibly overpriced for what you get, but having been a customer here for a year, I've learnt to avoid certain things, and I've been a satisfied customer.
There are three types of toilets here one for gentlemen, one for females and one for disabled/baby changing rooms. There is also a section of games for both children and adults, and they serve beautiful drinks and cocktails for any event.
The only thing I don't like is at night, they dim the lights, which makes it hard for us who are dead and communicate through sign language. Otherwise, this place deserves a...
Read moreI love the food but find it so frustrating you get a different variation of soup of the day everytime I go. The soup is always fantastic but the menu says “served with warm ciabatta” everytime I visit the bread item is different, today I was given a panini? I’ve never been served a plain panini with soup before, and it was also cold. I would also really appreciate it if the soup is written on some sort of chalk board so customers are aware of the option. When we visited recently we were waiting at the bar for 5 - 10 minutes to find out what the soup was, the staff was unaware so went into the kitchen to ask, couple more moments later confirmed the soup choice. Went to order on my phone the staff member told me he had to put it back on the till system and wait a few moments. I’m refreshing the page over and over again, in the end I had to order at the bar (which is fine but just more time added). I also added for the meat version which I paid for, and didn’t receive.
Everything else is great and my partners food was lovely, the drinks were served quickly and were really tasty. I would just like a similar experience for each visit rather than turning up and not knowing what your going to get based on what they can be bothered to serve that day 🤦 I normally go to Rushden lakes, although it’s more of a journey I get the same everytime, and staff know what the soup is...
Read moreIt is a shame but the food quality in my opinion has dropped and when you order English Breakfast for nearly 10 quid you would want it to be right, toast not a toast but a slice of cheap quality bread, the tiniest pot of baked beans that tasted like they had a bath in sugar, few poor mushroom, half a tomato that was of the cheapest quality it screamed do not eat me. Honestly I have better breakfast from builders cafe near my place for half the price and even there service is better.
Service wise, early morning on a wedesday, had to wait to order whilst one server managed to drop a serving tray with iced coffees on customer table, others didnt help, bit of a chaos, once order made, had half of the brews delivered, for the others i had to ask as were left on the counter. Really shame, used to like coming there in the past, but decided it was my last visit, If you want my money on inflated prices at least make it a good memorable visit for food and...
