I have been to the premier inn 3 times on week long visits in which my company pay for my breakfast here and my afternoon meal with vouchers. I would have rather had the money to spend on crisps.
The food - absoloutly awful. They manage to ruin something as simple as a piece of chicken with bacon and cheese on top. Honestly, this chicken breast was blasted in the grill untill it was just tough enough to struggle to cut with a steak knife. If I was to throw it at a window it would have gone straight through. Made me feel sorry for the chicken. It lived it's squalid life only to be murdered for its breasts then to be murdered again by a "chef".
This particular meal is called "smothered chicken" it gets the name from the fact it was supposed to be smothered in BBQ sauce. It wasn't. The chef should be smothered for what he did. When I told the not-so-lovely waitress (who looked absoloutly furious that she was at work) she gestured to me to lift the bacon up so she could see under it. I did and there was no BBQ. She then told me that they must have put a little bit on. Inadvertantly calling me a liar and an idiot who can't differentiate between grease and BBQ sauce. She offered to get me some BBQ sauce. She returned about 72 hours later with some saches of BBQ sauce and I proceeded to complete the meal that they should have done in the kitchen by "smotheing" my chicken in it. Quite an interactive dining experience.
I finished my meal and went to the bar for another pint. Jesus. The bar lady looked me in the eyes like I was her ex husband who ran off with the younger girl from down the road who cuts his hair. No "what can I get you?" No "hi"... Just a blunt stare right into my soul Asif she was waiting for me to either leave or die. "Pint of Carling please" - "3.60". That right there was the complete dialogue of my purchase from walking to the bar to walking away with my pint. She had as much charm as a mass grave.
Anyway I necked my pint which was as flat as bath water and didn't taste much different and went back to my room.
And that was just one day. One meal. I had 3 weeks of this.
On the other hand the premier Inn is lovely, clean and cosy and the staff there...

I did not feel welcome by most of the staff at Brewers Fayre High Wycombe. I was staying there for work related business with my son and I am a person of colour. There were a few occurrences that happened. I went to the counter where two staff members saw me enter and didnt greet me and there was a Caucasian Family behind me. The Young lady wearing glasses at the counter totally ignored me, and looked straight at the family and asked for their order. The family looked over at me and said to her ,'This lady came before us'. I went in for Dinner with my son, we placed at a middle table and I asked for a different table in a corner. We already had a reservation. The young man told us several tables were reserved. I didn't have a problem with that. Found a nice table in the corner and then My son and I were left there for 20 minutes. Other people were being served and no one came to ask us what we wanted to drink. I had to go up to one of the servers and ask for someone to come and serve us. After that, all we were getting was attitude by the staff. One girl even rolled her eyes at me. I understand they were probably busy, but customer service is important. Another time I asked for my plate to be wrapped, the lady I asked seemed annoyed and dropped all the forks and spoons in a bucket of water. If she had said, 'Yes of course, please give me a minute while I wash my Hands'....which she didn't. I felt like Hygiene is not being practiced there. The establishment was not very clean. I have put up pictures of the plate I was served food on and the wall that looked dirty. The Establishment needs a deep clean.
Positives: The Manager, her name is TASH, she was the first one I met on the first day and she was so welcoming and I could feel her genuine positive Energy. Her staff could learn a few things or two from her about hospitality. She was really welcoming. The food was tasty. I ordered the Thai Chiken Curry several times and my son had burgers and he enjoyed it. Even the young lady called Casey, I briefly bumped into was very nice. But I have to say that Tash has been consistently welcoming everytime I have entered her...
Read moreI stayed at the attached Premier Inn for 2 nights, 6th - 8th June. After we had checked in we popped into BF for a drink as we'd been driving for hours. It was Friday, late afternoon/ early evening. Children were running around in the bar while their parents were quaffing prosecco & pints on the patio, there was a group of rowdy guys talking loudly and swearing for all to hear & the lady behind the bar couldn't have been less welcoming if she had tried. Every table that was unoccupied needed clearing. Only planning to stay for a quick drink we perched in the restaurant area.
We popped back in for a drink later that evening and it was much more relaxed, although still, every table had plates & glasses to be cleared after, presumably, a busy night. The manager (I assume) was super friendly.
On Saturday morning we went in for breakfast. The same manager welcomed us with a friendly smile and took payment before showing us to a table. She overheard my parents talking about not having had a very good night's sleep, in a very uncomfortable bed and offered them their breakfast for free. That was a really lovely gesture, especially as that was down to Premier Inn, not Brewers Fayre. Breakfast was ok, we had booked for 10am so it was obviously winding down and there were no hash browns or fried eggs. Not the end of the world, I'm sure if I had asked for some they would have provided them.
On Sunday morning we went to breakfast at 9am & there was a full buffet available. Only one coffee machine available, resulting in long bleary-eyed queues.
All in all, it was a bit hit & miss. The entrance to the bar and outside area is littered with cigarette ends and there is a broken gutter that drips into the middle of the path.
Needs a good clean up and some more staff. The manager was great, clearly working all hours though and really deserves her...
