Papillon Coffee House — Restaurant in England

I have heard great things about this place but maybe, those people didn't visit it on a Sunday. It felt like the people working on this day have never worked in a cafe before. They looked nervous and uncomfortable behind the counter and taking orders. The service really did leave a lot to be desired. They didn't know if they had tables available or how many, we had to find our own table. They came to take the order but they didn't even have a menu, they brought drinks out but no sugar or spoons, we had to ask for most things. I couldn't believe it. We asked for 2 baguettes with bacon, avocado, chicken and tomato. The baguette itself was very chewy, like a dog's toy. Both baguettes were inconsistent. They garnished every plate with a tiny bit of side salad and crisps, I still don't understand it. They should just put an option to have salad in the baguettes but this might be too much for them to handle and might make things even worse. Met a friend for a couple of hours and had a lovely time.

As a wheelchair user I wasn't sure how accessible it would be but looked nice so thought we'd give it a go.

I arrived on my own and there was a ramp although this was quite steep I managed.

When I first got in, it was a bit busy and couldn't see where my friend was but as soon as I came in the staff saw me and came to assist me.

Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, making sure everything was ok for me.

It's not the biggest of places and so if you are going to visit and your wheelchair is a bit bigger, then I would suggest coming at a quieter time than I was there.

There was a large toilet, although I didn't go in to it so not sure on accessibility features.

I recently organised an afternoon tea baby shower at Papillon Coffee House - From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and we had a whole room to ourselves. They allowed us to get there early to set up decorations and offered to help set up too. The afternoon tea was amazing and everything was absolutely delicious.

I would highly recommend Papillon Coffee House for any event, especially a baby shower. The ambiance, service, and attention to detail made it a really special day for the mum-to-be and all the guests.
