Visited this establishment on christmas eve for dinner with family. The biggest mistake of our whole trip to the UK!! After being show to our table we sat down on very mucky looking chairs. We immediately noticed the table was slightly sticky to touch and as we looked around noticed everything looked very dirty and worn out. We immediately tried to make reservations elsewhere but due to the time 5pm everywere was fully booked. Decided to bite the bullet ( probably would of been better than the actual food) we ordered some main coarses. Well... I have never seen such dismal looking food, literally everything looked like it had been taken out of a waste bin. The presentation was enough to put you off the meal before you even took a bite. Genuinely terrible tasting food and at prices that seemed to be expensive for the area. We ordered basic food.. Burgers, pasta and nachos but even these dishes proved to difficult for whoever they have employed in the kitchen. Fries that were burnt on the outside and raw I the middle.. how is that even possible ? Burgers that were comprised of a cheap patty in a dry bun.. no salad, no sauce just plain and dry. The food came out one plate at a time, we were a party of 8 so this took 10 minutes before everyone had there food from first to last plate and service with a smile was no were in sight. Even the staff seemed very miserable and spoke very abruptly and sturn voiced. All in all the whole dining experience was horrendous from start to finish. I would not recommend this...

I staff member in particular was rude made it very obvious that it was 'finish early Sunday,' as also informed my the pub manger on taking us to our table. We asked for quiet table as my daughter has autism, instead crammed everyone who was eating into the same are which wasn't many as pub was very quiet. Said didn't want to get other areas dirty with being 'close early Sunday". The waitess even asked if we wanted coffee when we were still eating mains. Rushed the deserts and literally when last mouthfuls was taken she was there with the bill and put the amount into the machine before I'd even seen the total. She stood o er me while I entered pin. I asked if my daughter could have a small lemonade as she went feeling well before we left, she rolled her eyes and said here and plonked it on the bar. While we then stood up at our table still putting coats on she squeezed in-between us to clean the table. There was 1 other couple directly next to us and they said they felt the same she was hanging around them waiting. She even forgot their order and left them waiting for an hour. We paid ยฃ77 for 3 of us which is not cheap but the way we were treated was disgusting. I spoke to the manager before I left but as she was the one who told us about 'early closing Sunday' as long as all customers had left I shouldn't think she was bothered. Such a shame but I would like your take on this and would like to know if this is Marstons policy it was only 7pm when we arrived...

Been here a couple of times now, every time it has been fantastic and deserved a five star rating. The staff are friendly and very attentive, the atmosphere is family friendly and very comfortable, when it is busy it is recommended you book a table so that you don't miss out on eating here. Even when it is packed though it doesn't feel crowded because it is set out to give ample room to the diners present. For those who can't live without their phone there is free WiFi access with a good stable collection. The food is divine, being well presented, tasty and a generous portion, for the price. The menu has plenty of choice including a massive specials board which is changed daily. The majority of the meals come under a 2 for 1 price deal which makes the price very reasonable. Cost is mid-range but as I've said it is true value for money. This last visit I had a Steak and Stilton salad from the main menu and very rarely do I order my steak to be cooked "blue" because it is rare to find a chef that is skilled enough to cook it properly as they either over-do it or it leave it to raw. The staff convinced me to try it "blue" and it was cooked to absolute perfection, and was served with a very generous helping of stilton and a very crisp, fresh salad. You would be very hard pushed to find somewhere that offers the same quality for such value for money. Will definitely be...

We went here on the 6th November 2024, as we entered we were asked if we had any allergies which was great as our 2 month old son has a dairy allergy and my partner is breastfeeding so she has to be dairy free. We asked the waitress what she can eat that is dairy free and she gave us a different menu and sad she can choose anything on there and the chef will make it dairy free which was great. She wrote down on the receipt there was a milk intolerance so the chef would make it dairy free. When we got the food we asked the waitress again if it was dairy free as it had cheese in and she told us again it was definitely dairy free so my partner ate the burger but I wasn't completely satisfied so I asked another waitress if it was dairy free and she said she would ask the chef, the manager comes back to our table with the receipt to tell us that it's not actually dairy free and the chef missed it. At this point we were both furious about this as it's totally unacceptable to miss something so important which was asked numerous times. I will be escalating this further

Wheelchair accessible entrance and seating. Advise to book as very busy. There is a children's area and outside playground. We had a 15-minute wait for a table. We were seated while waiting. The host was polite and had us laughing while we waited. We placed our orders from the vast menu They also offer 2 for 1 meals, starters, and desserts. They have a specials menu which is change regularly . Good range of beers, ales, wines, and soft drinks. Plus hot drinks, the hot chocolate was great. We shared the sharing garlic bread with 6 pieces 2 cheese, 2 plain, and 2 with cheese and salsa. We had steak and chips, pie chips, and burgers with all the trimmings , sausage, and mash. It arrived quickly and was hot. I'm looking forward to returning. 13/05/25 We had a lovely visit today at 3 pm. The venue had a few people in. We choose a window table next to the outdoor seating area. The food was lovely. ๐Ÿ˜

We dined here last Thursday as a party of 6 (4 adults, 2 children) and had a wonderful experience - social distancing was respected and the staff were very courteous. Two of us ordered the Rib Eye steak, mine blue and my mum's medium - both were cooked perfectly and the meat was beautiful (kinfe glided straight through it with no effort at all!). The children's meals were great value too and they even did two chocolate ice creams for them even tough it wasn't listed on the menu - usually vanilla ice cream, (brilliant that they were so accommodating for the 2 very particular 4/5 year olds in our party!). The other 2 adult meals were fabulous too! Definitely recommend the Sicilian Lemon Muffin Cheesecake - absolutely delicious! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‹
