Peppers balti restaurant — Restaurant in England

Until this point the food and service had been great.

When we arrived home with our takeaway we found some chips missing, but thankfully Peppers had someone deliver some to us.

But worst of all was how oily the curry was and the container it had been placed in. I sat with the food on my lap for the drive home and the oils and grease have leaked through the containers, through the box and completely ruined my shorts and jumper. We also placed the box on the kitchen counter at home, and it has permanently stained the counter. No amount of scrubbing could remove the colour and grease and the only way to get the stain out has been to sand the work surface!!

I called today to speak to them about this, and was told that they normally tell people NOT to place the box on a seat or on your lap, which i was not told. He then replied "well its common sense really" - great customer service guys... Surely common sense would be to line the box? At some point whatever surface it touches will get marked, whether thats the car floor / boot / kitchen surface? The management offered no solution to the problem, saying that it was my fault. A simple offer to foot the dry cleaning bill, or some money off our next order, would have reaffirmed us as customers.

Instead we were told, "i cannot run a business like this", a simple apology would've been nice.

Nice food, rubbish...

We had a table booked for just myself and my wife. arrived about 10 mins early. The place was busy with a couple of large groups. The staff seemed focused on the bigger groups, we waited about 20 mins before someone took our order then over an hour later we were still waiting whilst 3 or 4 staff were busy waiting on the larger groups. We eventually gave up and told them we were leaving at which point they said our food had been ready for a while and we should've said something! Instead of an apology they just said 'it's first come first served!' They're clearly not interested unless your spending hundreds. We had eaten here before and the food was good and its local but terrible customer service which is a real shame. Won't...

Large group of us most got what they ordered, when I asked where mine was they brought a dish over and it wasn’t what I ordered, they got me another dish that was chicken too, they told me it was just a bonus price and the rest was lamb. Makes me wonder what other bonus fall in to their dishes. Told them I don’t want a main dish and not to bother. Most people had finished when they got me my dish. I tried one mouthful and it was tough and horrible. They still expected me to pay full price for a dish that was late and nasty. Staff was friendly but need to learn how to wear a face mask as a beard covering chin mask...
