Phanthong Thai — Restaurant in England

Food and service was lovely.. however pre booked a table for 14 people for the Sunday £24.95 per head meal deal.. paid £140 deposit.. had 2 phone calls from the restaurant prior to our booking.. Informed then both times yes we were still coming and we had payed a deposit, which they couldn't find.. gave them the card details and date I had payed.. comes to paying the bill, they had not included the deposit, had to show proof even after 2 phone calls and they added over £40 in compulsory tip which they never mentioned on the 3 phone calls I had to book this.. Extremely disappointed that they were trying to take £140 off us, charge us full price and then charge us over £40 for the pleasure.. we all ordered drinks and paid at the bar.. amazing food and great service just be prepared for them to try and completely take advantage and charge more than advertised....

I don't usually leave poor reviews but after a bad takeaway experience at steep prices, we emailed Phanthong Thai to complain. For some reason 3 out if the 8 plastic tubs in our bag split, 2 if them being soup. Basically the tubs were thin, poor quality, brittle plastic, not fit for purpose and our soup was left all over the car seat. The food itselft was mediocre but we thought we would give it another chance. Initially we received a response offering a discounted meal but we've tried to follow up on this a number of times now and had no reply. In my opinion there are better Thai restaurants in the area who would go well out of their way to look after returning customers. Needless to say, we won't...

Wow! This place blew us away. We have been meaning to go for ages but from the outside it always looked quiet, however, you can’t see much from the outside. As we walked in yesterday, it was very busy… good and bad right? Good sign that it’s full but I was thinking it would take a while to get served, wrong! I cannot get over how friendly and efficient the staff were. All dressed in traditional Thai clothing. Friendly and helpful, the service was very fast and the food was outstanding. We had 2 starters and 2 mains and we loved every bite! We were unable to pick fault with anything and unable to pick a winning dish as all were equally tasty. We will be going back...
