Excellent place to stop for tea/coffee, cold drinks and snacks. Staff were friendly and service was with a lovely smile. I had a bacon and haggis roll which was lush and my partner had a smoked kipper roll and was equally impressed by the local delicacy in a bun. Delicious! Our dog also had a treat which is offered free for our four legged friends, kipper skin! Loved it. This is situated right next to the public toilets and main Craster car park, so is extremely well placed. There is also a tourist information building but this was not open at the time of this review. Definitely worth a stop.

Superb Craster kipper in a bun, veggie burger type vegetarian option, hot chocolate, just over a tenner. Ok they don't do cakes, but you just can't beat a Robson's kipper..shame they don't have a liquor license though, those kippers really deserve a single malt accompaniment. Cheerful and attentive service lots of space, very good outside Covid-19 compliance, (hand sanitiser, plenty of space, clear queueing strategy, card payment..no problem) they'll be really busy soon though, so might be worth ringing to check they haven't sold out if you're going April onwards..

Craster is a pretty little village, Dunstanburgh Castle is really impressive, then when you get back to the car park you see this small haven. Try the Craster kipper bun (after walking past the smokehouse up the road!) and Auchtermuchty (haggis and bacon - match made in heaven). Delicious. Pipers Pitch is a fabulous little cafè, staff very friendly and food delicious. Good prices too (two substantial sandwiches with a tea and a coffee £10.70).

A fabulous Craster kipper inna bun (RIP Terry), with a proper big mug of good coffee, and then the sun came out. Even got some kipper skins for the dogs to make up for them only getting to walk 12k because we thought the weather would be grim. What lovely people at Pipers Pitch... I love it when people are genuinely warm, inquisitive and chatty, it makes me feel hope instead of despair for this country. Well worth a visit.

Came across this place completely accidentally and so glad we did. Had the kippers which was absolutely delicious! The other 2 people with me had cakes and they were homemade and so moist. Was so nice have a coffee it a proper mug and not a disposable cup! They are both so friendly! There's seating available too!

Highly recommend. Delicious drinks (I tried latte and mocha) served in real mugs! And the food is amazing. The Auchtermuchty is a huge bun filled with layers of bacon and haggis. It will fill you up for a days walking! The owners are so nice and friendly too. I will definitely call again anytime I’m near Craster.
