I'm not normally someone to complain...but the food here is sparce on your plate and the chef is lazy...my partners son had a chicken burger...4 chicken goujons 1 piece of lettuce and about dozen chunky chips...no sauce in the burger so dry.....I had a burger with the dozen chunky chips...burger was edible with cheese and lettuce...but it was more like a meatball on the burger bun...lazy and boring for a burger....my partner had fish and chips...hand full of peas and the dozen chunky chips...but he said the fish was not fresh and edible. whole meals and 3 drinks ...49 pounds...rip off for the money...this pub is 2 mins from my new home and I would have been a regular. There was no one round to speak too and as the pub served up not 1 but 3 poorly presented meals...we just thought that they see that as acceptable...we left and posted a poor review on Facebook....the pub then saw fit to call me a Facebook warrior...and told me...."we have no issues with me not being a regular" ...what an awful rude reply from this place...

Had a great meal here. Staff were really friendly, helpful and attentive. Our dogs even got a special snack so they would have given this place 10 stars if they could!! Steak was really tasty and reasonably priced. Nice little pub with a friendly atmosphere.

Lovely country pub with the drinks selection of a city bar. Prices can be high and food is not served until late, but overall a nice alternative to the noisy pubs in the town. With an added bonus that this pub is dog-friendly and serves gluten free ales.

Landlord was very friendly and welcoming. Has a nice beer garden. Will be honest, the pricing is a bit concerning for what you get. Chips were burnt and the sandwiches could do with a salad or something. The pulled pork sandwich was kind of sad. For £10 for a sandwich and chips (£8 for just a sandwich with no chips too) I would expect some salad and more chips that aren't burnt and don't fill your mouth with grease when you bite into it. there were very few chips. There was very little fluffy potato inside the chip and they kind of tasted like burnt coffee.

However if you are jam and need a place to eat on the road it'll fill you up. I feel bad writing this as we were the only people there on a bank holiday Saturday at lunch time but I my suggestion would be to at least add some salad to the sandwiches either inside or on the plate. We're not locals we just needed to eat on our...

We recently ate at the Plough and Harrow and would like to share my feedback. As a regular visitor who has enjoyed lovely meals there, I was really disappointed. The Bruschetta dish: The bread for the bruschetta was stale, no olive oil or garlic. A few dried herbs, and this is such a simple dish. The tomatoes while I understand that it can be challenging to get good tomatoes out of season, the ones served had no flavour whatsoever. As an Italian restaurant, I would have expected that olive oil could be provided but we were offered sunflower oil or similar. We did not eat the dish and it was returned to the kitchen. My linguine Gamberoni, which I have had quite a few times, was also disappointing. No front-of-house staff acknowledged our issue or attempted to come and talk to us though the waiters were...
