Powells Pies was recommended to us by a lovely gentleman called Mike who claimed they were the best Pork Pies in the Country. As someone who loves a tasty Pork Pie I simply HAD to buy some. The owners were great and very friendly as they set about a fresh batch of pies. Fresh cases were lined up ready to be filled with the delicious meat and the aroma of cooking pork filled the air. We purchased 2 small pies and a larger one to accompany a salad later that week . Once home we set about enjoying the smaller pies and what a treat they were. The pie case was crisp and cooked to perfection , not too thick and not greasy. The filling was DELICIOUS , perfectly seasoned and with a good amount of jelly around it. The only drawback was they were so delicious that once you finished it you savoured the taste and craved more. If you like well made, delicious pork pies then this is THE place to go. Once you have tried these exceptional delights you will be hooked. I cannot wait to drive back and buy some more.

We were lucky enough to find this little gem of a pie shop while camping in Cheshire, it is tucked away hidden down a small alleyway of shops right out the way of the Main Street, as we approached we noticed 4 people sitting at a table and one standing all preparing pastry and making pies, the lovely lady in the picture holding the pie happily stopped to talk to us and explain the history of Powells Pies, obviously we bought a bag full of them and we were not disappointed, the pastry is fabulous and the meat even more so, the price was also fantastic, this is one little gem you must visit while in Whitchurch especially if you want to stay safe from being kidnapped 😁

Sinfully good, a delightful combination of savoury filling, flaky soft buttery dough, and a gravy that makes you want to lick the plate. Handmade never tasted so good. Absurdly good pies and for most reasonable prices.
