The Crafty Dragon — Restaurant in England

Absolutely gutted, called in here for the first time with a mate couple of months ago, first pub on a beer crawl of Whitchurch and decided it had such a great range of beers that we didn't need to go anywhere else, had a great night. Coming back this way on my boat after xmas decided to have another session with my mate and three other friends joined us for a night in the Crafty, five of us walked the mile to the pub on Saturday 28th December only to find it had 'early doors' and closed at 8 p.m. We were so looking forward to another great night, I have to leave Whitchurch tomorrow morning on my travels but hopefully one day I'll...

The crafty dragon was recommended for a visit by a friend who knows I like real ale, I was not disappointed. It is a local brewery that owns the bar and it has a good choice of their own beer plus some guests, both on key and cask. I opted to start with their dark cask bitter, a lovely pint I must sayi then had a stout off the key kegs, after they kindly let me try the 3 darks they had on the back wall, it was a dry stout and grew on me with each sip I took. Really great little micropub from Magic Dragon Brewing. Phenomenal selection of ales on both cask and keg. Not just beers from Magic Dragon, but some guests as well. I had a pint of the Old Magic dark mild that was incredibly good.

Dog friendly, family friendly and just generally friendly, I loved the vibe of the place. Really relaxed, warm and welcoming. I hope this new venue finds success in Whitchurch, it's an excellent addition...
