Roots — Restaurant in England

We didn't expect to find such a nice cafe walking down the High Street in Chesham, so I feel compelled to write a review. The place was nicely decorated, creating a calm and chill vibe. We ordered a turmeric coffee latte that was beautifully presented, while the lemon and ginger tea was packed with slices of fresh lemon and ginger. They also had a variety of homemade loaves that looked so tempting. We tried a slice of plum loaf, which was as good as it looked. Other than the great drinks and cakes, what we liked about this cafe right away was the way the owner proactively asked if we wanted water with our order. This is a common practice in continental Europe (think Viennese cafe), which is a nice touch. Even the water was served in a cute little bottle, elevating the cafe experience. A beautiful coffe shop with good food sadly owned and managed by a very agressive lady. She has no customer manners at all. I heard her once loose it in front of customets because someone stole the hand wash in the toilet. Whilst obviously this is jot acceptable the way she went about it in front of her café was disgraceful. Recently I heard her being very impolite towards a customer who kindly said to her the losing time on her Google page were wrong and as she had driven 25 minutes to come to the cafe it wiuld be good to update the page. The manager was so nasty to her in her response, I left the café without buying what I wanted to buy. She also seems to traumatise her staff. I will not go back to this rude person. A good piece of cake and food is no worth the stress this angry...

Not child friendly! I was asked to walk my baby up and down OUTSIDE where it was raining as she was crying and had "made other customers leave", i was already trying to comfort her, this couldn't have made me feel any more unwelcome! I said I would leave and wanted a refund and they tried to still charge me for my drinks! We had been in the establishment about 4 minutes!

Awful! Horrendous! Worst place I have ever been! I think it was the owner who said this to us and I hope she feels worse than she made my wife who was...
