Seven Spices — Restaurant in England

We visited this restaurant in October 2023 for my sons birthday. We wanted a table for four people. Upon arrival we waited around 10 minutes for someone to come out of the back. Eventually I went into the back and asked if we could just pick a table, which we did expecting that someone would bring menus and take our drinks order. Another 10 minutes passed and we'd still not been greeted or any menus brought to the table. I again went into the back and asked if they were too busy as we were happy to go elsewhere. They said they were busy but they'd be with us straight away. Menus arrived and drinks order taken. 15-20 minutes passed and no food order taken. Yet again I had to go in the back and ask for someone to take our order. The food eventually arrived, tepid at best. One prawn dish and others chicken dishes. Two of the dishes were supposed to have cheese in them, I was horrified and embarrassed when they came with a craft cheese slice on top. Needless to say we complained and decided to leave. The manager was very apologetic and asked us to give them another chance and to come back for complimentary meals, and asked that we didn't give them a bad review. Well, myself and my husband returned on Saturday evening (party of 2 this time, not 4). We reminded them of the offer made by them in October, they remembered us visiting but totally denied ever offering complimentary meals. I will never use this restaurant again. Ordered, all ok, told it'll be 45mins for delivery, again fine. Hour later, asked for an update, just busier than normal itll be 20 minutes. 40 minutes later no answer on phone. Go to shop to find out still no food anywhere near ready. There's a party of eat in people already complaining about quality of food that was also slow, and several other people doing the same as me.

Turns out they're short on staff. At no point was this said at either order or followup. Plus they're still taking orders!

Now it's 2 hours later (2130), had to get a refund and sort what were going to eat. Place was bad before it phoenixed itself,...

Ordered a takeaway for 4 people for my husbands 30th at just after 7pm, we rang at 10 to 9 and asked how long it would take, to be told 20 minutes. 30 minutes later, we rang back to be told they had no driver. Not once, when they accepted our order or when we rang did they say they had no driver. We spent over £70 on the order to be told we won’t refunded for 5-10 days. My husband spoke to a advisor via food hub, to be told that the shop told them we had already relieved our refund in cash. Which we absolutely did not. Why would you open and accept delivery orders if you don’t have a driver!! A joke from start the finish....
