The Griffin — Restaurant in England

This was my experience at the Griffin.Went 29th March.Ordered food.I ordered a cheeseburger, my wife ordered an ordinary burger.Our food came.Both burgers were in very cold white buns, my wife's burger was barely warm,my so called cheeseburger had a slice of cheese on top of the burger which was never going to melt because it too wasn't very warm.We didn't complain because,how can you warm a cooked burger up?The accompanying chips were red hot and perfectly cooked, but sadly the salad was just a few limp green leaves.Our 2 friends meals were nothing to write home about either.We were all very hungry so just ate our food without complaining, because how can you rectify the above problems.To make matters worse the next table had 6 ladies? on a night out.They were so noisy we had to shout across the table to talk to our friends.I know there's nothing you can do about anything like that because I worked for a brewery for over 20 years.When the ladies? left the other customers in the same area as us breathed a sigh of relief.Won,t be visiting again because of the extremely disappointing food.Very Very disappointing as I'd heard such good comments about the pub.Only given 1 star for everything otherwise this review...

Well decided to try out this place when it reopened, used to be good. The meal was OK but could have done with a little more flavour. Additional requested gravy came in very tiny jugs, very hot so difficult to pick up. No salt or pepper on table, had to ask. Asked for apple sauce...non. Asked for tartar sauce non, neither was there mustard or horseradish for the beef. Service was OK but lad bought one plate at a time. £12 each....bit high for the quality. Please note this is only my opinion....with some attention to detail it could be better. WENT AGAIN LAST WEEK BIG IMPROVEMENT. ENJOYED IT.....ALL ABOVE HAD...

I'm a semi-regular at the pub, I had smelled and seen the food for a few months but didn't really have time to stop to eat, my mistake as I went with my sister for dinner and the food was impressive, we both had pâté to start, she had the fish platter and I had steak, will definitely done again as not only was the food good but the service...
