Spice Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in England

My husband has been here a few years ago and said how good the food was. I ordered Butter Chicken, Naan Bread and Aloo Sag. We also had Puppadoms with the usual sauces, the Mango Chutney had no pieces of Mango that you might expect, the only thing I found was a small sliver of Mango Shell when I nearly ate it. The Raita was a strange bright green, no pieces of Cucumber in it and tasted very strange.

We thought, maybe the main meal will be better, we were disappointed. I had Butter Chicken, the Butter had split leaving what should have been a smooth, creamy sauce as a greasy, grainy inedible slush, the Chicken was dry and tough. The only parts that were edible was the Spinach Potato and the Plain Naan. Not once did the staff come to our table and ask how the food was, nor did they ask if we wanted another drink or anything else. Had not ordered from here before, but choices were limited on a Monday night, but I was not disappointed. Easily ordered online at their website, then got a discount for collecting the meal. Was still hot by the time I got home, and all I can say is FANTASTIC! Great tasting food! Really the best I've had in the area. We had Rogon and I tried a new dish, both were excellent. Getting flavoured naan bread can be hit or miss a lot of the time, but the peshwari naan was brilliant, so tasty. The best food we have had in a long time and this will be where I go from now on! Had a takeaway previously from here and it was great so recommended it for a birthday meal. Never again. 30 minutes for drinks just to be brought over. Another 20 minutes for food order to be taken then well over an hour for food to actually be brought to the table. Queries over some dishes and the staffed laughed in our faces whilst walking off, they did not show any care. They were not friendly and very rude, I would not recommend this restaurant to eat if you want to do anything afterwards, they gave us no customer service at all and did it care about there customers.
