Alexander Restaurant — Restaurant in England

I can't review this restaurant more highly. The food is amazing. They're totally happy if you're fussy like me and want things well cooked etc, nothing's an issue. I can't overstate how friendly the staff are, and not in an annoying way, they're always welcoming and friendly and clearly do want you to havrva good time. I go to Italy pretty regularly on holiday (mainly because of the food and the wine!) and I could not be happier this restaurant has opened here, the food is soooo good! Genuinely, we eat from this restaurant once a week or so, it's our go to food now! I only wish they did delivery, but that would stop my really enjoyable interactions with the head waiter dude...

Not the same since the takeover. This is our first time since the previous owners moved back to Italy. Cut to the point. We was served straight away and had drinks on the table promptly. I was shocked to see 2 solo half mushrooms on a plate for starter with a price tag of £9.95. The smallest starter I have ever received. Great taste but absolutely ridiculous size dish. Mains was nice but nothing special. Pasta came pipping hot which makes me feel it’s been microwaved. Drinks were over priced. We had a table for 8 (3 kids) and was shocked to have the server come over to the table and tell us children to stay in their seats. Disappointed to...

The service was very poor last music night, because of only one chef, and the waiters focused on the larger tables of 6 to 8 persons. My veal of escalope was nice but a disappointing sized portion. But the service for smaller tables was extremely slow. For this reason we will not come back to this restaurant again. A pity ,we were at the same music night 2 years ago, and the restaurant was full. Last night the restaurant was about half full, maybe because other people had the same extremely slow service also?
