Stanleys steak house Workington — Restaurant in England

I took my wife out for a nice dinner to Stanley's to celebrate her going to Uni and I wasn't disappointed. We both had the stake (I had the ribeye and my wife had the Rump steak) Both were very delicious and full off flavour. We opted for them both to be served on a 350* degree volcanic stone slab and it was an exciting experience as we have never done this before. There were plenty of chips and they were one of the best I've ever had. the onion rings were home made and made fresh and crispy. The coleslaw was fresh and creamy and clearly home made as well. It was very quiet, only one other couple in and they left leaving us to be the only customers. The place looks like a canteen cafe, it was nicer where it used to be before moving to its new location. Very drab inside. No draft drinks, the beer was fine as it was in a bottle, the other soft drinks instead of being in a full bottle or can as no draft, they were poured from a bottle that must have been opened ages ago as they arrived flat. On a positive side the food was very good. More staff than customers so I can't see it being there much longer. If they made the inside decor more appealing and sorted the drinks out it could be good as like I said the...

Loooks can be deceiving! The staff are brilliant and very polite. Now for the best bit, the food tonite (23 oct 22) was fantastic! Our team of 9 rough and ready kart racera were welcomed at quite a late time. The steak was perfect as was served on a hot stone where you can cook it to personal perfection! The fajitas were the highlite of my night, these were served on a hot platter, were suculent and juicy and full of taste!

An absolute gem of a place and credit to both the waitresses and the Chef! We all loved the food tonite abd will be coming back again during our next race...
