Superfish — Restaurant in England

I did some research on where to get decent food before my recent trip to Workington for the event of the The Ballad of Lucy Sands premieres ( I’m one of the lead actors ). Superfish was recommended so I tried them out. I’d come up from Cornwall for the event with my son and daughter and we were really looking forward to something to eat. I have to say I am very fussy with fish and chips, I certainly don’t have a decent one in my town. The reason I’m so fussy is because I used to run a chippy on a holiday park so I know what standard this meal should have ( which, sadly , are standards very few meet!)

I have to say, the food was absolutely phenomenal- cooked to perfection and both my son and daughter enjoyed theirs as much as I did. Son- Battered sausage and chips, daughter- veggie burger and chips ( with shake ), myself- fish and chips ( with shake and vac )… “Shake and Vac”=Salt and vinegar ( which made the ladies serving laugh!

No better testament to the absolute quality of this food can be stated than to tell you we went back for another meal a couple of evenings later. ( before I went and had a cry at Lucy’s grave !)

Went this week while doing abit of shopping. Very rare we get a chippy tea these days but superfish in the past has always been brilliant. Ordered a large chips and cod for me and the other half to share, while we waited the two men in the back were very off putting as they kept looking over and then talking between themselves in a different language and then looking back, this went on right up till when we left. Now benefit of the doubt it might of just been a coincidence I get that but its still abit off putting. The chips were. Well chips abit soggy but thats about it. The fish was bad and I mean like the batter on the bottom was like cardboard. The large was more like a small and was full of grease and we had to leave the bottom as it was rock solid. Very disappointing as I remember as a kid my mam and dad getting us super fish and we would park up and eat them in the car. Such a shame it was one of the best...

Visit today 3rd Sept 25 Food - 3 pensioners fish and chips, 2 fish patties and chips, 2 cans of pop and 3 pots of tea. Fish was tiny and whole meal was tasteless. Bread was stale and patties were really greasy.

Service- was always fabulous service. Today the girl was surly, rolling her eyes when we asked for a cup of hot water and then didnt return to ask if everything was ok or to clear any plates away. Atmosphere - none existent, used to be busy and vibrant but was empty and felt like they didnt want you in there. Prices - 3 pensioners fish and chips @£8.75 each =£26.25. The bill was £41.25, so it meant that we were charged £15 for patties and a portion chips and 2 cans of pop! How does that work? Maybe the owners can give me the separate prices for these on here as I didnt look at the price of those. One thing for sure we...
