8n the toilet was a male member of staff scrubbing away at something on the floor with paper towel. Very studiously and hard working.
When I exited the toilet, the same chap was now cleaning tables and floors.
Had he washed his hands after the toilet floor job? I presumed he must have, give him the benefit of the do7bt and all that.
But then he left the cleaning of floors and tables and went straight to helping serve coffee.
I watched his fingers press the take away lid down on the cup of the customer before me ...

Read moreI would just to say disappointed I was with this particular chain of Starbucks! Having worked in a chain myself I was looking forward to popping in and having a treat! How wrong was I! We were not greeted how we were always told to greet customers, the service was slow, and at the Passover the coffee was dumped on the side and the lady somewhat mumbled what drink it was, with no name call out! No eye contact, terrible customer service! Then to top off our 'experience' my partners macchiato did not taste right, and my daughters mango and passion fruit was made use the hibiscus tea?!! What the hell is going on! I suggest management/area management call in for a surprise...

I just went in for a quick take away cup of tea and some cake on a journey down south. Counted about 7 staff members, small queue. They looked about aged 16-18 and were chinwagging, gossiping and staring about aimlessly as if it were a voluntary school cafe.
After about 20 mins I got my cup of tea and cake and by that time the queue reached the door. The staff need disciplining or re-training, or both.
Truly shocked and appalled as you expect at least the basics of service at somewhere...
