Swindon Harvester — Restaurant in England

So where to start, firstly let me say we, have eaten here many times and have always gave a good review, unfortunately not this time, l took advantage of the 50% off last night, my husband chose the ultimate grill, eye's bigger than his belly !!!! 😉 after eating it, he proceeded to say he never had the extra steak !!!! He told the server, who said she would talk to the manager, on her return she said she would take off £ 2 something? We paid the bill and left. On the way home my husband said well that wasn't nice, and l had to agree, service was very slow, and the server was rude. When we mentioned about the steak, she was unsure of what was wrong, so my husband decided not to complain about the other extras that should have been there. I asked him what other extras, he explained he should have had, extra STEAK, SAUSAGE, HALF A RACK OF BBQ RIBS,FLAT MUSHROOM, AND EGG, which were not on his meal but charged for it.!!!!! When we made the server aware of the steak and she returned, she said take £2 something off, when l asked her what the bill was after taking this off she just looked at us blankly, !!! She then said she would be back!!!! We worked out the bill minus the deduction, so as she was near us we said, here you are passing over the money, she said WAIT whelst l take this order and l will be back ???? I also want to mention the young lady sat in the bar area, clearly a member of staff, as all the staff at some point in the evening spoke to her, she was clearly told we mentioned our problem as she just sat and stared at us???? Come on Harvester, l'm too old to be intimidated. I have looked at the menu today, and my husband was totally right, maybe he should have complained when he got his meal, but as he pointed out to me, it's their job to get it right. We shouldn't have to complain, we are not there for that !!! We just wanted to come out, have our dinner, ENJOY IT pay and go. Not a good...

We haven't been to a Harvester for a while and have never been to this one in Swindon.

It looks like the typical Harvester from the outside and the inside has the typical layout with plenty of space and a nice family friendly atmosphere. Nice bit of music in the background but nothing too loud so you can hear yourself speak.

I love treating myself to a burger when I visit a pub but have been put off the last few times as they literally cremate it! I thought I would ask if Harvester were able to cook my burger (The Dirty One) under well done so that I wouldn't face that same probably. A staff member politely explained that chef has to cook them to a certain temperature so this wouldn't be possible but they can make sure the burger is taken off as soon as it reaches that state so it won't be dry. This worked a treat and it was the juiciest burger I have had in a while so I really appreciated that. The burger and all of its toppings were very nice. The chips are good and those cheesy doughnuts with jalapenos are my favourite starter they do.

My partner enjoyed her chicken skewers and chips and also enjoyed the whole experience.

I could hear how well the servers dealt with customers and our server Frea was very friendly, polite and helpful throughout. Meals arrived in good time during quite a busy period and everything was hot.

Harvester has become a lot more pricey as of late but its worth noting they do a lot of good deals which we took advantage of and meant our meal ended up being pretty good value in this day and age, and of course you have the classic unlimited salad which adds value (love the potato salad and cheese sauce...

First of all we got in the restaurant and had to wait about 5 minutes to be allocated a seat with no queue. Then they had NO CHICKEN AT ALL. this is the SECOND TIME Harvesters ran out off chicken when ive visited, ruining my whole meal So menu options were limited and they wouldnt allow us to have a different meat to replace the chicken The ribs they served were so small for one person, big for one person and barely any meat for the other (weird portions)

Then our waiter left us and completely forgot about us. They did not collect our dirty starter plates. They sat us in a dim area of the restaurant so staff were not paying attention to us. They messed up our order for drinks , thrice and served the drinks 3/4 through the meal after asking like 3 people.

Then they did not bring my drink after bringing me random orders to our table like 3 times. Our waiter ran away and forgot my drink again. UNTIL I FINISHED MY MEAL THEN MY DRINK ARRIVED.

The drink was too sweet and sickly and did not taste nice nor as good as it tasted last time. The other person with me who got the same drink had no flavour and it was tasting like water .

Then we waiting 30 minutes to pay the bill and had to move out dirty plates to another table as nobody came to collect them

Overall this was not a great dinner or experience, i am sad as i was so excited to come here but probably wont ever again

Staff were trash , bad environment , poor and very slow...
