Abbey Meads — Restaurant in England

Firstly, this was this the 1st pub in Swindon that me and my partner had a drink and food in, in 2012 (we lived outside n were looking for our 1st home together in swindon on the day), and it left such a homely feel that we ended up living a short walk away. Weve eaten numerous times and never had a problem. I just wish they opened as early as weatherspoons (i appreciate the staff need a break though.) Secondly, and more recently, jan 2019 we hosted our daughters christening in the church next door and asked the pub if they could house around 50 of our guests for an after buffet. They were so friendly, flexible and accomadating, opening slightly earlier than normal for our event, arranged our baloons for us on the tables, and sorted all the food, dealt with my cake makers delivery early that morning and were polite and friendly about the inevitable mess the young kids would make with the food etc. Could not praise this pub and the people running it enough. Went in yesterday lunch time a quiet Saturday.. Ordered 3 course lunch deal. Firstly I was not impressed with the barmans attitude towards a tesco delivery driver who was trying to find the owner of a car that was blocking him in. Secondly I was over charged and I had to point this out. The child serving the food to us was very polite but I felt not well trained As when I say child I mean child.. My lunch was served incorrect and was sent back. My mothers ham egg and chips now whsat can go wrong with that.. Well the ham was drenched with the grease from the eggs. So drenched that it just made her heave. Young boy collects plates I mentioned how disappointed we were having been there many times before I explained what was wrong and we were very politely asked if we were ready for desserts again lack of training This all made for an unpleasant lunch and I would of been happy just for someone to apologise I have worked in catering and know how hard it can...
