Wow, not usually given to hyperbole but I stumbled upon this place on an infrequent visit to Launceston and was blown away. A grade two listed ,16th century building it has been sensitively restored by the current owners .The atmosphere and ambiance overwhelms the senses and takes one back to the glorious days of "real "pubs. This is Free House devoid of television ,slot machines or juke boxes but full of appreciative and interesting locals plus a large selection of interesting real ales. Dogs are more than welcome . Food consists of pasties and pork pies but that is not what this place is all about. It boasts great live music and historically it is the oldest pub in Launceston.
