We are celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided to go out for a meal, at Sagor, as it is only a short walk from our house. We are new in town and had never eaten there so we went with some apprehension as, even which good reviews, a new restaurant doesn’t always agree with your palate. We need not have worried! Best curry I have ever had! The poppadoms were fresh and the pickles were tasty. My curry was fresh and delicious, and my husband’s chicken biriani was excellent. The staff were lovely, polite, and professional, and the restaurant is clean and pleasantly decorated. We’ll most certainly be back!

No idea of the what the food was! We ordered Chicken rezala ( which is suppose to be a white gravy). Anyone can search over internet! It is a very popular indian dish! But to our suprise we got a tomato based chicken curry! Why put such names to the dishes when you have no idea what it is like! We called the waiter and the chef, but they were so adamant about this! And called it chef’s special! Before ordering please ask them what the food is going to be! Dont go by the name of the food on the menu! Please dont fool people ! What a waste!

Having read the reviews i went to Sagor. Had two people running it including take aways. We waited for 45 min for our starters. No one asked for refils for our drinks and our empty plates just piled up. The waiter seems to be an arse (the guy). Shame seems to be a nice setup. The table next to us was left dirty for 45min. Still waiting for my main course may be here by xmas. On our way out we were told a staff member had left. It would have been nice if we knew when we sat down.

What a pity. We've been eating here (mostly takeaway) for more than a decade, but unfortunately the time has come to try somewhere new. For the past 3 takeaways, they have left something out. The first time it was onion bhajis, second time it was the mint dip, the third time (last weekend) it was an entire naan bread. We live in a rural hamlet and drive for 20 minutes to get this takeaway, so it's just not feasible to return, and not much point calling them as we come here perhaps 6 times a year. Perhaps our mistake for not checking the bag each and every time, but it shouldn't really be on us.

I had found my favourite curry, but the portion size has definitely been getting smaller, and the prices have been steadily increasing. For a main course for two people, 1 portion of rice, 2 naan (only 1 in the bag) 2 poppadums and a dip, it came to nearly £40. I appreciate costs are increasing, but we can't justify it any more.

I know we're not the only people to feel like this as my dad was on first-name-terms with them, and following another mediocre takeaway, as opted for a different establishment.

It has been a lovely place in the past, and the quality is generally good - but the portion sizes, cost, and forgetfulness means it's no longer worthwhile. Sorry. I wish them...

We arrived at 8pm, unfortunately we were sat between the restroom door and a store room door and I very rapidly grew tired of being asked to move every time the staff required something from the store. We asked to move tables, which was done begrudgingly and slovenly, and being that I am reliant on a walking stick,we swapped tables with little/no assistance from the waitresses of which there were four and it wasn't especially busy. At 8.50pm I asked how much longer we would have to wait, and the response from the waitress was an indifferent"I don't know'" over her shoulder as she walked away. At 9.10pm our meal finally appeared, and was certainly not worth the wait. The sauce was gelatinous, rice dry and granular, and the chicken dry and stringy. One had the distinct impression these meals had been sat quite sometime before reaching us. Dismal indifferent service bordering on downright rude, and I have had better curries from the frozen isle in Lidl . Hugely disappointing as we have enjoyed many lovely meals in the past with excellent service.

Oh and top tip ...if you are using supermarket condiments,it's not a great idea to decant them in full view of...

Just popped in looking for something to eat and there's 2 restaurants next to each other. We made the right choice. Fantastic greeting on entry from the beautiful young lady, a table was prepared for us and we was seated within minutes. Staff make or break a business, but the front of house staff were superb. Very attentive, professional, polite and a lovely smile that I've found so lacking in other establishments. The food? Hmmm. Well, if I said that was superb it would be a lie. It was better than superb, much better. I can see why it's so highly rated. My 3 daughters and I tend to order different things and try a bit of each others. We couldn't fault our food whatsoever. Certainly the best Chat and Balti I've had for years, the pakoras and butterfly prawns are to die for. Portion sizes are more than generous and prices are excellent for the size and quality of your meal. Wouldn't hesitate visiting again. I hope the staff got the gratuity I left for them as a thank you for their excellent service. We really...
