Never been in here before and I shall never go again and nither will my friend and other friends. Arrived at 10.45 am ish, sat down, we was the only people in at that moment in time and the mature lady came over to take our order of 2 coffee's. We sat there nattering and probably after 30 minutes I said to my friend shall we have another drink. We then ordered two pots of tea. We carried on nattering for another 10 minutes or so. And by then remainder of my tea was stewed and strong so I got up approached the counter and said to the lady " could I have a small pot of hot water please" she replied "we don't do refills" I was a little taken back by her answer so I said " it's not a refill I want to dilute my strong tea down" she gave me the most snottiest look and turned away so I turned away and went to sit back down. My friend then said to me" did you hear what she said under her breath as you walked away?" I said " no, why what did she say?" My friend replied " it's the same". With this it made me feel upset and could not believe the rude customer service I was receiving. The cafe began to fill up with people coming in. The lady serving was on her own and was taking quite a lot of orders. People stood in a queue coming in also. I waited for approximately 10 minutes. I ended up drinking my tea very strong with the remainder of the milk which wasn't very pleasant. The lady had no intentions of bringing me any water over and proceeded to keep serving people. I got up and went to the counter to pay for our drinks which came to over £11.00. she was that busy she asked one of the ladies in the queue to get the money box out and give me my change. The lady did not say thankyou once I paid. Her customer service skills and attitude towards me as a customer was poor to say the least. Having read a few other reviews and speaking to people from Sandbach, they have experienced the same. I'm lead to believe this lady is the owner. It's such a shame because it's a nice quaint looking cafe. And some of the cakes look nice to which I assume they may...
Read moreI went in this morning for some food, the waiter George was lovely and I proceeded to order a crepe with Nutella and strawberries, he came back up promptly to inform me that they didn’t have any strawberries, with that information I changed my order to a chicken pesto panini. However Helen (who I assume is the owner) then came up with a crepe, I was confused and told her that I had changed my order after being told there wasn’t any strawberries. Instead of apologising for the error I was told ‘you ordered it so I made it’ and ‘we never had any strawberries in the first place’. Strawberries were offered to me, so I ordered them. This made me feel like an idiot even though it wasn’t my fault. Helen made quite a deal out of the fact she had already made it and therefore I should eat it. I expressed that ai did not want to eat two meals so she very reluctantly took the crepe away but with a lot of attitude and made us feel very uncomfortable. My nans soup arrived and about 10 minutes later my panini arrived. The food was lovely, however Helen’s behaviour made the whole experience very uncomfortable and unpleasant and overall really affected the eating experience. I would like to express though how lovely George was. From the minute we walked in we were greeted with a smile and he was very polite...
Read moreThese people know coffee, from the expresso to the latte (with the art on the top) it's well made and, more importantly, made properly by people who appreciate it.
The coffee shop has food, and even though we didn't partake this time, we did see that it looked top-notch.
The people who run it (and own it as a family business) are just ace to talk to, and even when they are rushed off their feet, they have time for a chat. I wasn't surprised to see that it was just about at capacity mid day on a Sunday. Again, you can tell they have a perfect model working well as it's not on the main drag and yet is popular.
Cost wise, it's way too cheap and needs to put...
