DO NOT visit Wetherspoons Blackwater Stream in Broadstone.
Not one to complain about any restaurant but today was an absolute joke.
Went to the blackwater stream for a meal for my mums birthday as a group of 6 people as government guidelines state.
Myself, my nan and my auntie had all ordered our food already and mine had come out basically straight away.
On the table opposite us in the beer garden over 3 metres away from us was another member of the family who was out with her friend and son, completely unrelated to us.
They had arrived before us and we had no idea they were going to be there but we all said hello from our table and neither us or they got up and came to each other’s tables at any point.
One of the waitresses reported to the manager that we had been talking to people from another table (from over 3 metres away may I again add) and so the manager came out and told us we cannot be in a group over 6 people, so we explained that they arrived separately and had their own plans and happened to be there at the same time.
I told her to check her CCTV footage as it would clearly show that we had not arranged to come to the restaurant together.
The manager did not respond to this comment.
The manager handled the situation horrendously and spoke to us with zero respect and did not listen to the situation whatsoever.
She ruined our meal, my mums birthday and everyone’s mood.
Government guidelines are correct, her version of government guidelines were completely warped (that we cannot talk to anyone from another table or say hello from afar, that if someone you know happens to be at the same restaurant that you have to leave the place - an absolute joke)
Emma was the manager and Caitlin was the waitress - appalled at their behaviour, absolutely disgusted at how they made us look and the way both the manager and waitress spoke at particularly myself for trying to put my point across.
Be aware if you go to this restaurant that they just want your money and that the management are on a power trip.
(Since posting this review to facebook - I got feedback from waitresses who work at this branch in the comments which are childish, unprofessional and quite foul - you can see in the photographs...

I recently visited the Black Water Stream in Broadstone for a business breakfast and was left highly disappointed by the experience. We ordered a cooked breakfast, jam on toast, and a mushroom Benedict with bacon. To my surprise, the mushrooms on the Benedict were completely raw.
It is concerning to be served raw mushrooms, as certain types contain a natural toxin called agaritine, which can pose health risks if consumed uncooked. Agaritine is found in some cultivated mushrooms, particularly in the common white button and portobello varieties. This compound is classified as a hydrazine derivative, which is considered a potential carcinogen. Fortunately, it is heat-sensitive and is effectively broken down when mushrooms are cooked. Therefore, serving them raw not only impacts the flavor and texture but also raises food safety concerns.
Upon realizing this, I returned the dish to the kitchen, expecting the issue to be resolved promptly. However, after waiting over 15 minutes and watching several other customers receive their meals, I found myself waiting far beyond a reasonable timeframe. By this point, it was nearly lunchtime. Frustrated by the poor service and the health implications of the undercooked food, I opted to request a refund.
Under-cooked food, especially when it involves potentially harmful ingredients, is unacceptable and poses a risk to customers. I expected better food safety standards and more attentive service from this establishment.
Overall, this experience was highly disappointing, and I would urge greater caution and training in food preparation at...
Read moreI visited The Blackwater Stream on Monday 3 February 2020 in the afternoon, a weekday during term time. I was with one other person. I've visited this Wetherspoons pub a number of times recently - it's one of the finest Wetherspoons locally - all the benefits; ordering via the app, coffee on tap, really keen prices and good food, but also a nice bright premises and great service.
I parked in the pub car park, which is pay and display but only £1 for an hour - parking was easy.
The restaurant comprises of one fairly large sized main dining area with plenty of tables. Using the app makes ordering really simple then everything is delivered to your table quickly and efficiently.
The team were very friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I enjoyed nachos and a warm cookie with ice cream, which was particularly awesome! The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was very good value for money, as always.
Overall I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely...
