This pub has some great views, The food here is amazing, 5 star, very friendly and helpful staff, knowledgeable about beers on offer, food arrived promptly, and presented well. Have been back again and renovations have taken place, a lot more seating areas to choose from, didn't notice the play area last time visited, pool tables, darts, arcade game's,great for the kid's. Had the homemade stew this time, absolutely recommend this, good winter dish. Again very fast on delivering food, staff great as usual. Another visit to our now favorite local pub when we are visiting the area. I had the homemade stew as was so impressed with it last time. Again fast delivery, staff were very polite and professional. Look forward to next visit. Back again, and this time we both went for the anchor cheese Burger's, got to say, amazing. Have been told the saute mushrooms are fantastic, but I can't eat them so passed over mine, they were all eaten so must be good. It's a great atmosphere, relaxed, dogs are allowed. Great place just to come and sit with a pint, it's like a second lounge. Had another visit to the blue anchor, this time had the Chicken ham and leek pie with veg and potatoes and also the homemade chili, again we weren't let down and the quality of the food was great. We managed to get two visits in this holiday to. Also noticed a big screen for watching sports on, which I hadn't noticed last time I was there.

We have just stayed here for a couple of nights. Food was good. Not impressive. It needed some seasoning here and there. Prices were fair for a pub. There were a couple of problems with breakfast but the staff is very accommodating and helpful. The room was nice with the view of the shores and the channel. They supply everything you need: towels, toiletries, coffee, tea and even movie dvd's. It is dated though but they are trying to improve. They have free WiFi but it doesn't work outside or the room, probably only in the pub. Overall it was a nice couple of days. They could do better and probably will as they are keen on pleasing everybody. If you are easy going and calm you will have a great time there.

Sea side pub affording great views of the channel in the outdoor beer garden. Friendly staff and beer in good condition. Pub grub is available, from a reasonably priced family menu. Addlestones cloudy cider at 5.2% was worth the visit. It seems to have a countable outlet.

We recently stayed at Anchor's Drop with over 20 of our family and friends to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. We were the first guests they had and we couldn't have had a better time! Anchor's Drop is an incredible venue, and having it all to ourselves was amazing. From the real pub bar area, to the 2 giant hot tubs, to the incredible retro games room, the whole place has everything you could need. There's a BBQ, a full catering kitchen, a large dining area, numerous lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, a whole apartment, and a beautiful outdoor area. The only thing better than the pub is the hosts, Cara and Marcus. They made sure that we had everything we needed for the entire of our stay. No request was too much - they were always on hand to help in any way possible, but also gave us all the privacy we needed. They are a credit to the venue, and the venue is a credit to them. They have put so much work into making the pub a special retreat and it really shows. We would absolutely, highly recommend staying here for large gatherings or parties - you won't regret it! Thanks again Cara and Marcus x||Rooms: The rooms are all well equipped, decorated nicely and keep the original character of the old pub. Most are en suite, with a few having a separate, but private bathroom. The master suite is incredible, with amazing views, a separate lounge, and a huge balcony. The apartment is also amazing, with it's own kitchen and lounge.||Nearby activities: Anchor's Drop is right on the beach - perfect for walks. Minehead is a short walk. But there's almost no reason to stray too far from the extensive grounds.||Food & drinks: Bring your own food and drink. Cara and Marcus are happy to arrange anything you need, including barrels for the bar and accepting deliveries of food before you arrive. There is a full catering kitchen and ample fridge, freezer and storage space. Dishes, glasses, cutlery and utensils are all provided.||Noteworthy details: The outdoor area is amazing. There's 2 hot tubs, one big one and a gigantic swimming pool style hot tub. Relaxing in them while looking out over the channel is bliss! The games room has pinball machines, arcade machines, a pool table, an old jukebox and a dance machine. There's also a karaoke and jukebox in the main bar, with a sound...

Never judge a book by its cover!

Just had a fantastic meal here at the Blue Anchor Inn, initially when we pulled up I wasnt sure and on 1st entering as the decor does look dated but honestly dont let that put you off, the pub is 🐶dog friendly🐶, the staff were very welcoming, very friendly and accommodating, it appears to be a family run business as some of them were much younger than expected 😁but so well mannered👍 Having found a table that was free (there were a lot of reserved tables which I took as a good sign)we ordered our food which was delivered in a very short time, I ordered "homemade chilli my wife had a spinach and riccotta cannelloni, my son had sweet and sour chicken they all came on a wooden platter with dishes sat atop, the portion size was good and the quality was superb as were the side orders of cheesey chips and garlic bread, I dont normally order this much extra sides wise but unfortunately because we had a negative experience with the ☹Smugglers Inn☹ down the road I thought it prudent to order some extra sides just in case but my fears were proved to be unfounded as the Blue Anchor Inn really delivered on quality and quantity, we washed this meal down with 2 pints of Thatchers Haze and a fruit shoot which came to a total of £42.95. Which I didnt think was unreasonable.

Even though we didnt stay long as we had to get back as we hadn't fed our dog I was well impressed that even though the Blue Anchor Inn gives the impression of a work in progress (see the games room, 👌very nostalgic👌) its very clean and well kept.

👍Well done guys👍Im sure that anyone coming in for food etc will not be disappointed and if we ever come back to Blue Anchor Bay I will definitely revisit your...
