Great place for walks. When the tide is out, you can walk to Watchet. Cliffs are unstable, so take care. Lots of fossils to be found. Alternatively, take a stroll along the seafront. There is usually an ice cream van and a couple of cafes open. If you walk to the left, there is a path that will take you to Dunster beach along side the heritage railway line.

We’ve been visiting this beach for a few years now. It’s got some interesting cliffs with rapid erosion. Of course, there’s plenty of rocks and sand and a Second World War pillbox. If you visit during the late evening, there can also be some great views across the channel and a beautiful sunset.

We have a Chocolate labrador and a Beagle. It's a good run for them and is local to where we live. Fenton (Lab) will dive into the sea and act like 'tigger' whilst Monty (Beagle) will go on a sniff-ari along the beach avoiding wet paws at all costs. So it's a win win for walkies.

This "pebbly" beach is very nice and VERY well maintained. Though, even if it feels warm, it gets incredibly windy! My husband was in a T-shirt and shorts and regretted VERY much not having worn long trousers and a jacket; I wished I'd brought a heavier coat too. Despite the sun, we were both quite chilly.

It's a wonderful spot to simply sit and ocean-gaze, as you're RIGHT along the water. You can easily walk across the very pebbly beach down to the sea!! Some people were even swimming, which must have been freezing!

Paid parking only is available along the main road, you might expect to walk ways to get to any sort of café. You'll find a few cafés further down, but they're on the pricey side (a single donut was £3.89! Coffees varied from £3.50 on up). NOT SUITABLE for small children any such guardian would be constantly after the child(ren) for the pebbles-sake!! lol Beautiful 'day-time date'...

The beach is great for walking the dogs but please be aware. We had an awful experience of one of our dogs finding some broken off fishing tackle containing baited hooks , weight and line etc. He proceeded to attempt to eat the bait which in turn ended up with the hooks in his cheek and tongue. Thanks to the help of another dog owner my wife and I some how managed to remove these hooks after a while with alot of discomfort to our dog. This could have been disastrous outcome if our dog had actually managed to swallow the baited hooks. Thanks once again to the kind gentleman who came to our assistance. To the fisherman who did not go to retrieve this tackle once the tide went out, shame on you, Thankfully our dog is doing ok after this...

The Blue Anchor was the first destination on our tour from just outside Minehead eastwards & up to Weston-Super-Mare. We weren't sure what to expect as we drove along the long, straight road parallel to the beach. The tide was out and it didn't look that inviting so we decided not to stop and make any attempt to push my mother in her wheelchair along the beach. I'm sure that on a hot, sunny day this place would be quite attractive. As it was, we moved on further east to the...
