A proper pub for once! Full of character and characters! Lovely open fire in a 'snug' at the back of the bar. Childrens rooms off to one side and the proper bar the other. As for the Spingo, well, I'm not sure anything I say here can do it justice....the middle is their 'session' beer at 5% - it drinks like a session beer too which is dangerous! The specials are just that, SPECIAL, but beware, they are strong! starting at 6.5% for the special, then for certain celebrations they will brew some 'Extra Specials' which are usually in excess of 7%. Ancient, thatched, full of interesting nooks and crannies and even more interesting locals - I've never been here and not had a good chat. Then there's Spingo. Oh my. Brewed on the premises and, I swear, like no other ale. It has magical properties. Great live music and the bus stops right outside, so you don't even have to drive there, and it's in Cornwall. What more could you...
