We visited at a quiet time and really enjoyed our meal – the food was lovely and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made for a nice atmosphere.

The menu was a little limited when we visited, though it may have been after a busy lunch service. Coffee choices were also a bit restricted, with only cappuccino available.

The pub itself could do with a little TLC, especially in the men’s facilities. As the entrance is outside, I appreciate it’s not an easy fix, but with the hand dryer out of order, it would have been better to have paper towels or something available, rather than just a sign suggesting trousers as an option.

Overall though, a pleasant visit, good value food, and...

This pub was so nice when we went! I will definitely be going back when I'm in the area, and I'd recommend that anyone else does too!

We popped down after going for a walk along the nearby canal. The staff were friendly as soon as we walked in, and remained that way throughout our visit. The locals were pleasant, and there was a log fire blazing creating a lovely heat.

We ordered food and beer, both of which were excellent! The food was cooked to order, piping hot when it arrived, and absolutely delicious! The beer was cold and crisp, and it's obvious that the staff care for the casks and the lines.

The cost of the visit for 4 drinks, a sharer starter, and two mains was less than £35! An...

Stopped by for late lunch after few hours drive from south Wales.

Outside seating was quite busy. There were tables inside but we wanted to sit outside for the view and fresh air.

The menu was a bit confusing. Apparently there was more than one but we only managed to get one of the menus. We ordered the starter sharing platter (£14). Portion size was really good and we got what was stated on the menu. Couldn't really see what was all the dipping sauce about especially when the cocktail sausages were drenched in honey. Would have preferred if one of the dipping sauces was swapped with some salad instead.

Otherwise, it was a...

I’ve passed this place many times and often thought it would be a good place to visit. Opportunity arose as we were passing on the Llangollen Canal in our narrow boats. We booked in advance and were greeted by the super friendly staff and shown to our table. Nothing was to much trouble and the food cam out timely, on warm plates, and piping hot. A great feed for Easter Sunday. Luckily we will pass here in about a weeks time and will naturally be paying another visit.
