This pub / eatery and accomodation, was an unusual find by accident, made enquiries as to a last minute room for bank holiday weekend on the actual day, and came up trump's. Has one or two rooms of varying degrees of comfort available, the one we were given had its own large ensuite with sink, bath, and over bath shower. Found it comfortable with double bed, and tv. It also had use of a small adequate kitchen. It was away from the road so relatively quiet, although some loud voices could be heard from the bar, but these ceased at a reasonable time giving us a good night's sleep. Read moreWhilst staying at the Serenity Campsite, the Brown Cow became our "local" even though there is a pub closer to the site.
There are two, well kept, varying real ales on draught as well as the standard beers, lagers, ciders, etc. The prices are are also sensible for the real ale - £3.00 a pint. There is also food served between Noon and 9:00pm, and there is a decent selection to choose from - The servings are plentiful, so much so that I never had chance to try the Orange & Drambuie sponge!!!
There is a real friendly feel when you visit the Brown Cow, and you can soon be pulled into a conversation at the bar when ordering your beer.

I have to say how appalling this food was, no one came to check our food so i called someone over very defensive response. The meat over cooked in a gravey with no flavour when i use the gravey i mean that very lose. Chips cooked in old oil. Once i did catch someones eye to complain i was told the pastry lid was short crust i could i built a house and survived a hurricane with this offering. However home cooked means a packet.. but its okay as you stir it yourself. Wow..
