I booked a table for 14. Twelve of us actually went, but when we arrived, there was only seating for 10. We had to find (and carry) another table and chairs to add. ||||We discovered they wouldn't take our order as a group. We each had to go up to the bar and make our orders individually. This meant that the food arrived at different times for different people. ||||They gave us spoons with numbers on when we ordered. However, when they brought the food they didn't call out numbers. One of our group had forgotten what he had ordered, and took someone else's meal by mistake. This wouldn't have happened if they'd called out numbers (what was the point in giving us the spoons?!). ||||The food wasn't great when it did come (some of us having waited a lot longer than others). I had fish and chips, which was tasteless - oven chips obviously out of a packet and peas ditto. I'm told the scampi was also tasteless. Someone had the Yorkshire pudding and said it was like leather.||||It may be OK if you go in twos and threes (note - they don't take bookings, you just turn up) - but don't...

Sorry but this is based on the only night I stayed in First don’t forget it is “Dog Friendly” hôtel, so must love the animal and their smells! At the bite reception the dog smell is strongly present. The owner dogs are very quite and calm. That nice.

The staff were pleasant but also seems to miss the “professional “ side of the job. The lady at the reception tried her best to improve our experience, which was nice

The restaurant menu has a good selection with nice meal. I m not use to eat with dog in the restaurant and when they barking it make it worse. We asked to be relocated in the “restaurant “ area instead of the pub area but was not possible despite that they was the a free table booked for 7:30 when we book for 7:00, so the staff could have just swap the two table! We had to take our restaurant drink ourselves at the bar, ok why not. But I found that strange because when order the foot the staff go at the bar to type in our order so it could easily type in our drink and serve it. The Breakfast were good but the toaster machine was not correctly adjusted...

Stayed for the 2nd time at The Buck at Reeth. Stayed 25th to 26th July 2024. (1 night) |Made very very welcomed as we were the first time. |We stayed with our 3 dogs. Smaller room, as we booked late but nice and clean and very dog friendly. There was towels put out at the front door to dry our dogs. And a basket to put in your dirty dog towels in, once you were done. This a a fabulous idea. 😄|The Hotel had a welcoming atmosphere, staff were are very friendly and the breakfast was beautiful…the guy even brought sausages cut up in little bowls for our dogs too, can’t get better service than that! 👏 The dogs were also free, no extra charge. Value for money this hotel was a little slice of heaven. Thank you guys. |The only thing we were a little disappointed with was that the beer garden ..was closed until the weekend, we loved chilling there the last time with our dogs in a safe environment. |We are planning another visit at the end of the summer this year....

Uncomplicated pub, with warm welcome. Very dog friendly, too. Nice selection of beer, including Black Sheep, Theakstons, and Tetleys, when we were in. Food portions were very generous and the meal itself was lovely. I had chicken, leek, and bacon pie with chips, veg and gravy. Partner had gammon, chips, salad, and trimmings. Service very good. The best pubs used to be like this one, but so many have disappeared either having been turned into gastro pubs or run into the ground. Heartily recommend this one.

Dog friendly place and nice atmosphere. Food is ok, not great, but it's the only place serving food after 2pm. We ordered a ham cheese toastie and two fish and chips. Toastie was good (what can possibly go wrong with toastie!). The fish and chips were not great, the fish was not fresh and the batter was thin and slightly undercooked. Drinks were good and staff were friendly.

Gorgeous, airy room in hotel with bath, but pub a bit tatty and dominated by sports TV. Very poor and bland pizza for dinner and generally poor vegan options, but lovely and helpful staff. Very disappointing breakfast of stringy mushrooms and unripe and barely cooked tomatoes, in spite of requesting a vegan option months in advance.
