Beautiful pub in a beautiful location with friendly staff. They have plenty of outdoor space and good Covid-19 procedures in place. My only point for improvement is that the signage regarding outdoor table service is a little vague and causes some confusion. We noted the sign saying no bar service, table service only so duly took a seat at a table. We did wait quite a while and noted several groups seated around us give up and leave without a drink as nobody had offered service. We decided to pop our heads into the bar and request drinks for our table and somebody came and took our order quite quickly after that. I am very aware of how challenging the current circumstances are for business and the whole community and I can't stress enough how impressive it is that they have managed to adapt their operation to fit. I believe it is merely a miscommunication that led to the confusion and it seems a shame, after such hard work to be Covid ready, that so many people left. It is very much a place to visit, with the castle just opposite providing a scenic backdrop, I'd suggest being prepared to pop your mask on and let the staff know...
Read moreStopped off here for a bite to eat whilst out for a walk with the sister, it was a glorious day. We took the last seat that was available outside and what a spot. It was that hot I felt like sunbathing. The manager brought us some menus and took our drinks order, however they also have an app that you can order off. I prefer to talk to people so I stuck to ordering when the server came to our table. Food took a little while but that's what you expect when it's freshly made. I had the spicy burger and my sister had had fully loaded burger. my oh my it was visually appealing, I just had to take a photo. It came with slaw chips and onion rings on a chopping board style plate.. and for £14.95 it was definitely worth the money, mouthwatering chilli infused burger in every bite with jalapeno poppers to top it off and chefs special spicy sauce . If you like your burgers I would definitely recommend here plus thr views of Warkworth Castle are gorgeous when your enjoying your meal...
Read moreSecond visit in a week. First visit on a Saturday when there was a light bites type menu available. Sat outside on the tables near the road, pleasant enough. As a result, we arranged a return trip today (Sunday 11 July) to meet up with friends. Mistake! Ignored for ages after being told to wait in a certain place to be seated, once seated we watched as other people arrived to have their orders taken and served! Eventually got drinks from a choice of 2 cask ales (Brew House?) - really poor table service. Asked for menu, disappointing and very limited. Saw other people leaving much of their food so the clues were there. I had fish and chips but it was greasy and expensive (about £14 I think). Getting our table cleared was another chore that the lad ½ did then disappeared! We eventually got another round of drinks in before heading inside due to the weather. Once inside, we were once again invisible and in the next hour and half nobody attempted...
