The Chocolate Room — Restaurant in England

Got seated on a table by a waitress only to get moved to a table full of dirty plates. They cleaned the table after seating us, so we got a healthy dose of cleaning spray. 😂

I ordered an oatmilk cappuccino as I am VERY lactose intolerant, but after waiting until everyone that came after me got served, I finally got my drink. It made me sick. It was not oat. They assured me they had oatmilk in the fridge and even charged me for it, but the coffee hit me like I drank a glass of milk and did a handstand.

My food arrived late, by that point u just wanted to go home.

Seems popular, but I don't think I will be going again. Too much baking soda...

Visited today after having a quick look at somewhere for brunch after a morning trip to the south lakes zoo. The cafe itself is cute and cosy with upstairs seating. There was one lovely lady on today so was friendly, welcoming and super helpful and the food was incredible! We had a stunning meal at the pop-up restaurant here. Amazing flavours and combinations. Service was fab, with explanations of what we were being served as it arrived. Nice rest between each course and a lovely warm, chatty atmosphere. It was more than we'd usually spend on a meal out but this is a 'dining experience' not just a pub tea.
