The most welcoming and friendly pubs in Barnard Castle. The staff are awesome and you will receive the best and friendliest welcome from everyone, staff and customers! The food is great and well worth a stop if you are in the area. And they even have karaoke on a Saturday night!! And they'll even let you sing Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Greenday.......and it's 6 minutes long!!!! Do yourself a favour, and go there!!!!

Great pub, a real pub with a bit of character to it and a beer garden around the back. The log fire is always a bonus, kept us feeling toasty whilst we sat and chatted to one of the locals. Friendly staff and customers, a good price on my double vodka/lime/soda/ice and a slice too. We'll be sure to visit again the next time we're in the area.

Lovely friendly atmosphere. Excellent service and scrumptious hearty food. Good, clean pub, nicely set out with a quiet area at the front that looks like it could be quite romantic, a bar area, raised family area to the back, baby changing facilities & an outdoor/smoking area to the rear. Parking to the front & Bedrooms available too.

The Cricketers Arms is a Pub first. The bar staff are not interested in the hotel guests other than to take their money.|Having arrived on Thursday after noon I was shown my room and told that after the bar closes entrance to the room was via the garage. I wasnt shown where the garage was or how to access it.|The room was very good but I would have expected breakfast as a part of the price.|After the first night I left the room about 09:00 hours but could not find my way out. The door to the bar was securely locked. I tried the fire escape door but it was either swollen or jammed After several attempts and much effort I managed to force open the door and found myself on avery icy metal fire escape. I made my way down the steps and entered a store room and then a fire door out...

Came across this quaint pub yesterday after visiting Barnard castle, it’s very small and friendly the staff are very welcoming. There wasn’t a big choice of hot meals but that was ok, lasagne £9.99 chicken parmo from £9.99, they do a few light bites and sandwiches, steak and ale pie, Gish &chips, it’s reasonably priced for meals and drinks, bottles of wine £7 pints of beer £2.60. I got the Mexican Parmo with chips which was lovely, they forgot my husbands order of chips to go with the lasagne but we were in a hurry to leave so couldn’t wait any extra. the lasagne was a small portion which my husband was still hungry but had he got his chips it may of filled him.The pub is dog friendly and has a water bowl for them which you can sit anywhere in the pub with them. I would...
