The Fayre Spot — Restaurant in England

Booked just over 24 hours before the reservation (yesterday afternoon), the man that answered the phone didn't even listen from the get go. I asked to reserve a table of 2 for tomorrow (tonight now) he said fully booked tonight sorry so I corrected him and explained I was looking for the next night he said oh ok yes that booked in.

Thought all was well until I arrive at the restaurant to find out that the man on the phone booked us in at the wrong time and the restaurant was not even open tonight and that I had to eat elsewhere.

Absolute disgrace which has meant that instead of a hot meal that I had anticipated I had to settle for cold expensive petrol stop food as I did not have time to arrange anything else before the show I was due to see.

Not 1 staff member thought to inform us the restaurant was closed in the 24 hours the booking was made! Staff offered no form of compensation or alternative solution. WILL NOT BE RETURNING!...

i chose fish in a beer batter with chips and peas because it sounded really good on the menu and i was salivating until it arrived, but once i started eating it i realised : ((( ... that the fish was all watery and tasteless and the batter didn't seem as if it was cooked on the inside ... i am not a fussy eater but it wasn't a nice meal ... the chips were ok but just ok and the peas were mushy but they didn't taste nice and i had a lemon and lime drink and i was charged £11 something (can't remember) but i could hardly eat any of the meal so it was an expensive experience and i would not recommend and i would never go there again! ...

First visit back at this venue in a number of years. Service & staff were great. Food however left much to be desired. I had the lasagne which was not as expected. Only one layer thick with a teaspoon of bland mince. Lots of cheese on the top - too much for the size of dish, but it was only just melted, not crispy & piping hot as expected. My friend had a painful, & side it was "okay", but not something she would go back for. Good atmosphere, so great for drinks...
