Read moreThis is a friendly place above a pub. Check in is in the pub itself and the rooms are accessed by a stairway that leads up from the front lounge of the pub. Initial impressions are quite poor due to the state of the stairwell but the rooms are nice. We booked two rooms and they were both en suite and very well maintained, with kettle, tea and coffee in the rooms. One of the rooms faced the front (main street) so a little noisy on weekend evenings. The noise also comes up from the pub below but it does close by 11pm so not much of a problem. Service was excellent and friendly for lunch on a weekend. Camembert with onion chutney was OK, but too much coating and too little cheese.
