Really really disappointed unfortunately. Service was ok, waitresses didn't return to see how our food was which says something. Looking at other reviews it is a similar story. It took about an hour for our starters, as previously mentioned, had a "homemade Parmisan cheese scone with ricotta and ham filling. It was £7+ and half a scone which tasted awful.

Another hour went by and we recieved our mains. Appreciate that the children's mains came out first but drinks that come with the kids meal were forgotten. Most of the mains were just awful. Some of our party just couldn't eat it. I ordered the chicken burger and it was inedible. Chips where cold and chicken was just burnt and dry, alot of the table had to order extra drinks as food was so dry. Someone else on the table had to complain for me as I was just happy to leave it and the waitress responded with "it's just the way it's cooked so the chef is going to grill the chicken for you. I told them not to worry but she insisted. When it came out, everyone else had already finished, it was a bit better but just smothered in cheese and I just felt a bit awkward by that time. So I had a few bites and left it as we had already been there 2 and a half hours.

One of our party said to one of the waitresses that most of our party was quite dissatisfied with the food and got an "I know". Nothing was offered or taken off the bill, a complaint was made about the burger and it wasn't eaten but was charged full price (£17.95) could have at least taken it off. Other members of the party were too embarrassed to complain and just didn't eat it, but at least the one thing that was sent back?

Unfortunately I won't be returning or recommending, I was really worried about sending food back and the whole thing was handled really badly.

And also, if a cheese and tomato pizza is offered on the menu, please specify that is a cheese and tomato pizza with super thick Slices of tomato on top! As one of our guests HATES tomatos and was expecting just tomato sauce and cheese (you may argue that it would be listed as a margarita but that is only if it...

My boyfriend and I came here months ago when it was taken over by new management and was thoroughly disappointed by the service of who we assume is the manager himself. I asked him a question about a dietary requirement, he said he would go and check with the chef, we were sat right next to the kitchen so saw him go in, only to see him come back out, walk past us and then never saw him again! So had to ask a waitress who was a lot more helpful! That being said we decided to wait a long time to go back incase it was just because he was new to it all and forgetful..

So today we turn up, wait to be seated and although we can clearly see multiple clean and set tables, the same man very grumpily takes us to a dirty table with absolutely filthy menus that I didn’t want to touch and told us he will set the table in a minute (he never did, not even after he bought us our food). I ordered the moving mountains burger and after what seemed like hours I received a flavourless, mushy lentil burger with cold chips and the worst coleslaw I’ve ever had.

I overheard a waitress telling the man about half an hour before I received my meal that they had ran out of vegan burgers.. Nobody came to check with me that I was ok with the replacement, and I really wish they had as I cannot stand those types of burgers and would rather have not eaten at all.

Nobody came to ask us if everything was ok, and for the first time in my 32 years of life having never ever had the courage to complain about food, I was so disappointed with the whole experience that I had mustered up the courage to say something, but like I said nobody came to check on us and whenever anyone walked by it was like they purposely looked the other way!

During our meal we heard 3 other people complain about their food and ask for replacements, and they had to go and find someone to complain to as nobody was checking on them either!

We won’t be back as we’ve wasted enough money on this...

I am going to start with the fact that I could have gotten a better meal out of a bin. We went here for Mt nans birthday meal. First we were placed at a table that was directly next to the door and after we were moved we were under the speaker. My nans meal was the stake well done with chips, mushroomsand peppercorn sauce, the stake first came as medium rare, once we told the staff they said they would put it back in the oven, 2 minutes later it came back basically as charcoal. It was impossible to even stick a knife or fork in, nans chips were stone cold, mushrooms were cold, and peppercorn source couldn't even be called that because it was runny and completely taste less. My aunts meal was chicken tikka kebab, chips and onion rings. The kebab was fine, but the chips were cold and the onion rings were cold. My uncles meal was stake medium rare, chips, mushrooms, mushroom sauce. The stake was edible. The chips were yet again cold and the mushrooms were like all the others cold. The mushroom sauce was really runny and tastless. My cousins meal was the kids buttermilk chicken, chips and beens. She said that the chicken tasted horrible, the chips were cold and the beens were fine. My meal was the butterfly chicken, chips and onion rings. The chicken was crisp and had no taste, the chips were cold, and the onion rigs were disgusting. We all also ordered chips and garlic bread to all share and that was cold and the garlic bread was basically just bread with no garlic. At the end of it all it came to £82.90 the last member of staff we spoke to said she would half it and that would have come to £41.45 but she said she could only get it too £48 something which is only 25%. At the end of it all the staff screw up the recite and said just go and dont come back and then said it come out of my wages any way my uncle offered to pay half but she just kept saying no. Over all I would say that was the worst meal I have...

Food amazing ! service was really poor. We should have known to leave when it was empty on a Saturday, midday with really nice sunny weather! Left feeling a bit disappointed /regretting going there Customer tips: Don’t bother booking a table , they are all free Bring a book to read while you are waiting to get served There’s a KFC a few minutes drive away Management tips: Clean your tables, so many tables had food, drinks ect from the last visits Hire more staff so one body isn’t tending the bar, cleaning, taking table orders, receptionist greeting at the door, serving food and god knows what else! Update your menu so everytime we ask for something we don’t have to be told you don’t do that anymore or have ran out/discontinued things Use the empty black boards to actually advertise on , people do actually look at them Cut the grass, it’s overgrown and looks unkept

Had a nice visit to the Half Moon – overall a solid 4-star experience. The pizza was decent and actually the best value for taste on the menu – I’d recommend just going for a pizza and a portion of chips if you’re after a satisfying and reasonably priced meal. The ribs were tasty too, but let down a bit by the small portion of fries for the price. The tagliatelle had good flavour but was very oily – possibly due to high-fat cheese – so while it wasn’t bad, it didn’t quite hit the mark. Great choice of drinks, and the service was lovely – really friendly, attentive staff. Only minor issue was the ticket machine not working properly, but it got sorted quickly. Slightly pricey for what you get, but still a decent spot for a meal.
