Was sent breakfasts without the side orders of black pudding which I ordered. I asked the server politely regards the missing food. He radio’d the chef and said ‘ I need the black pudding orders, the customer is kicking off. This annoyed me tbh as I hadn’t kicked off in any way but maybe that’s just how he gets the chef to do his job properly🤷‍♂️. 3 minutes later, 4 hockey pucks arrived on a plate, I’m told they were made out of pigs blood but honestly I can’t confirm this. When asked if everything was ok with the food I explained that the hockey pucks were not edible and asked for a refund just on the side order (we payed up front on the app). Was advised this wasn’t possible. I picked up one of the pucks and tapped it on the table where it promptly shattered. So the chef clearly doesn’t care about the food which leaves their kitchen, and the serving staff don’t care about the customers experience. What a way to run a business.

This finished off an interesting visit to Guisborough, it's really well worth calling in. Although it is 2 years old, it has a pleasant mix of traditional and modern decor. Excellent selection of real ales and wines to choose from. It's light and airy and a good place to meet up with friends. The staff were friendly and helpful and chatted to us, with the mutual comments about eachothers accents! The ladies were clean and tidy and well presented. The front entrance and beer garden is nicely set out, with flower tubs etc and steps leading up into the building. There is also an external lift to let wheelchairs and prams etc access as well. We'll certainly be calling in there again.

We usually come here to laugh at the staff because they tell us to leave as soon as we've eaten when the dog is with us, say dogs aren't allowed. He brings no attention to himself, usually just sleeps in the corner with us and staff check on us a few times saying nothing before they serve and bring it up. Now there's dog bowls left around the beer garden so I'm not sure what the fuss is about now. Plus the staff today are decent-in regards to the dog, anyway. Always friendly or quiet otherwise. And the shrub is held into bad soil by a plank of wood, the fence is what stops it falling onto the path, now browning-dying.

OK. Typical 'Spoons' cheap and cheerful. Only had drinks this time but have eaten here previously a couple of times since it opened around 3 years ago. Always been OK. Nothing to fault. Just the usual choices. Great for a quick bite to eat or to take the the kids without it costing the earth. Only thing to fault every time is regardless of it being really busy or barley anyone in or time of day/night, always lots of staff but ALWAYS takes to forever to get served at the bar?? Do yourselves a favour and download the app for the table service as its so much quicker. Typically the toilets like the majority of these places are a magical mystery tour away and up quite a lot of stairs. For such a new place the toilets are disappointing, fairly clean but lots of broken things, taps, toilet seats, toilet roll holders and most door locks. This really let's the place down. Disabled toilet and disabled access to pub via outside lift. Not a lot of parking as it hasn't a carpark so parking is on the Highstreet. Cobbled area disc parking 2 hours up...

I'm absolutely amazed that this pub doesn't allow dogs in their garden. if they choose not to allow dogs indoors that's one thing but outside in their front garden! It's a huge garden at the front so there's no issue with the size of the space or kids etc, it's simply shortsighted and backward. All other pubs in the area allow dogs outside so why is this pub so special. I asked a member of staff and she said it's Wetherspoons policy in all of their pubs - which simply isn't true as it states on their own website that dogs are allowed in their gardens at the managers descretion. We have a tiny well behaved sausage dog, not a Rottweiler. It's simply bad business to point blank be so unwelcoming and narrow minded. This new local pub could have been a great welcoming inclusive family pub, instead it's an elitist establishment that doesn't welcome all with appalling...
